The Media Got What They Wanted -- A Romney 'Comeback' Story

After telegraphing in the weeks heading in to the first debate that they were getting bored with a stable race, most of the influential media folks (Chuck Todd, Mark Halperin, Ben Smith etc) got what they pined for: A Romney debate 'victory'.

The media has a huge financial interest in making the race close.

But it will be all for naught. Romney did not win points with Independents or Democrats and he will still be soundly thrashed at the polls.

And 'The Greatest' scored in his own net by inadvertence... and the play wasn't that obvious when viewed in replays from all angles, so the call on the ice 'stood'.

They should know who will come back to full strength in the second and third period to win the Stanley Cup at the end of the game!

They were pining for it all week and sure enough.. they got it!!! Except the jobs numbers rocked today !! woo-hoo!!! I know they were not expecting it!! By the way I am a long time lurker and this is my first post.. been reading since 04.. bush-kerry election.. we really need to have all three branches!!! I am little worried with some of these new swing state polls i have seen tonite.. but ppp polls said in their tweet obama is much better.. so i hope these jobs numbers get us out of the woods , along with the President bringing his "A" GAME to the next two debates!!

or more specifically, welcome to posting here.

I have no doubt that Obama will not be as shocked by anything that Mittens pulls from here on. We were all speechless.

...no matter how the debate went. What made this different was that the voices on the left agreed that it was a debacle for Obama. That, I wasn't anticipating.

Remember when they said that Paul Ryan was going to inject new life into Romney's campaign? Then everyone discovered that he is a complete retard.

Remember how they declared the Republican Convention a complete success? Then it turned out that Romney's support remained stagnated

Remember how they declared the Democratic Convention a complete failure? Then Obama got a massive surge in the polls

Remember how they said that the 47% tape wouldn't matter? Then Romney crashed in the polls

Remember how they said Romney had a massive cash reserve that was going to crush Obama? Then it turned out he actually didn't.

Remember when they pounced on the "redistribution" video? Then we found out that it was complete bullshit.

Remember how all of the polls were "skewed"? Then it was discovered that made no sense.

Now Romney supposedly crushed Obama in the debates and....no evidence that it has changed anything yet. But don't worry, the massive surge towards Romney is coming any second now. It must have just got stuck in traffic.

Every fucking second of every day for the past 4 or 5 months they have been claiming that the Romney comeback is imminent. They want it so badly. They want their horse race so that David Gregory can buy himself a new speedboat and George Will can get a fancy new hairpiece. Its all a scam to make money. Romney isn't going to win and he isn't going to have a comeback. But that doesn't matter, as long as they can sell us the idea that he could win and that we don't know what will happen. Its all bullshit.
