Can anyone explain to me why there hasn't been any town hall meeting in this campaign on both sides

I was thinking about this because the next debate will be a town hall setting I don't think Obama has done any town halls if I'm wrong someone please correct me.I was listening to callers on the Joe Madison show that said that's a better format for the President and they expect him to dominate.Well I'm not so sure about that if he hasn't done any town halls during this campaign.Bill Clinton did a tone of town halls during his first run as President.

my biggest memory of 2010 was all the rightwing republicanlibertarianteaparty aholes parading around rubbing their guns on their side with their racist signs

After Gabby's near death, I wonder why there are no town hall anymore(no I don't).

Whomever invented the idea of guns and town halls

and I don't like presidential debates as town halls. I never trust the ones getting picked by the rightwing aren't plants or given a question even if they are genuine nonplants.

Though the best moment in the 08 townhall was when McCain, to his everlasting credit
told that racist asshole woman that Obama was not what her racist mind thought.
(not sure if that was during the debate or earlier primary debate).

at the final Town Hall meeting Obama held a couple of years ago, you should recall a woman name
Velma Hall stood up and said to Obama:

"I don't feel the change yet".

That was the end of the Town Hall meetings.

Due to the massive overall FAIL of our system (24 Mil unemployed people and twenty percent and
rising child poverty rate) we can't have regular people getting up and stating the truth
directly to the POTUS

President Obama will be holding his first big town hall meeting of the 2012 campaign in Cincinnati Monday. And he will probably continue his campaign attack on Mitt Romney's record of what Democrats characterize as sending jobs abroad while he was the head of Bain Capital.

after the Poll-A-Meter indicated too many of us empathised with/agreed with Velma

Having one or two Town Hall meetings in 2-3 years is hardly enough
