2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhere are the Obama signs?
Our little corner of western PA is suddenly plastered with Romney yard signs but not an Obama sign in sight. The local Obama office doesn't have any yet but keeps saying they expect to get some. What's the problem that the campaign can't get signs out?

(15,090 posts)Sure, PA is considered safe, but I still hate to see all those &^%# Romney signs with not an Obama sign in sight.

(3,709 posts)while we won't play a role in the election...today as I drove through town...Obama-Biden signs are everywhere. Lexington and Louisville are the sole remaining Democratic areas in KY I believe. So sad....

(26,268 posts)I'm using my sign from 2008. It's a little worse for wear, but hopefully it will hold out. I've seen some as I've been driving around, and two of my neighbors have signs in their yards, but in 2008 this whole neighborhood was full of Obama signs. At least there are no signs for Willard. I haven't seen a single one.

(14,933 posts)making it seem like something is wrong with the campaign and post it on DU.
Or, you could volunteer to be an OFA Organizer and have the campaign ship signs to you for distribution. Lots and lots of options here.
There are signs all over East TN, but then again, we have tons of ground game here and lots of motivated people.

(15,090 posts)And me ordering a sign isn't going to solve the problem of rural western PA being dominated by Romney signs.
Now this is the spirit I like. Thats how we win! This is the TICKET!

(35,348 posts)the War on Coal Fire Obama" signs for every pro Obama sign I see. Our former Congressman
Charlie Wilson (D) that is trying to get back in has every Democrat's sign running for office in the state I think but no Obama sign in his yard. Of course he did get tea-bagged out of office for voting for health-care. This last week I took a trip through parts of WV. VA, MD and PA and it was the same anti Obama signs and Romney signs are everywhere, Obama's are AWOL. I am starting to get a bad feeling about this election, everyone was gloating on DU last week.

(35,348 posts)the mine owner has raised well over a million dollars so far to defeat Obama. His mines are non-union but the UMW won't even support Obama. There are some generic signs that say "Workers for Obama" but I haven't seen any backing from any union.

(15,090 posts)I don't know if he made up the "war on coal" business, but I know he had the signs printed up and sends his employees out with armloads of the things and orders to use them.

(35,348 posts)go. I heard a squirrel told Murray to buy his first coal mine, maybe a squirrel gave him
the War On Coal idea too..
Why bring this downer spirit to an environment where others are trying to kick things into gear. We're 30 friggin days away. No time for fair-weather support. PERIOD!

Being positive about Obama's election chances is gloating? Not to a Democrat it's not. The pile on tonight is amazing.

(35,348 posts)week. From watching the talking heads on MSNBC the election was over. Mike Papantonio actually had it right the day before the debate, no matter what happens the media is going to call Romney the winner. I have seen a lot of elections and it happens every time, it was starting to look like Obama was going to win by a landslide and now they are piling on.

(11,495 posts)I have seen a few signs for president Obama, and up till Thursday, not one single sign for Romney. Not that's very rare in this neck of the woods. There are all kinds of signs out for the local, state and national races, all pretty much republican, and every year it's this way, except that every presidential election there are also signs for whoever is running on the republican ticket, yet this year I have seen only one, and it was a small bumper sticker stuck on a wall with a bunch of other signs.

(32,086 posts)I live in Joke Wilson's district. There were a few up around town during the primaries. They are long gone. I can count on one hand the number of Romney bumper stickers I have seen. All on the vehicles of old white retirees. A few weeks ago, I was near Hilton Head. Lots of Romney signs along the main drags, but the were paired to those of the teabagger clown who is running for Congress for that district. The party stuck them out there, not his supporters.

(4,186 posts)there is a place called the Liberal Store (part of Evolvefish) online that has the plastic bag ones real cheap.. When I stopped by the local OFA office the people working there were glad to hear of a cheaper place to get them..they didn't know when the OFA office was going to get some.
I'm not trying to advertise...

(2,404 posts)There are cheap perimeter security cams at well-known technology stores online. If you could afford one, that would be nice so you could use your sign without concern. Just a thought!
Maybe an aggressive doggie would do the trick

(28,151 posts)Our local Dem party uses that demand to raise funds. So far we've bought 2000 of them and we don't have many left. We'll probably place another order next week.

(23,156 posts)and there aren't many yard signs of any kind here, and weren't four years ago, either, which is when I moved here.
But there are lots and lots of stickers on cars. My favorite, which is apparently kind of a local thing is http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&sa=X&biw=1440&bih=791&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=6oYrnCIxC9Hp-M:&imgrefurl=http://www.squidoo.com/obama-bumper-stickers&docid=BfKlgXwlmHFFJM&imgurl=
