I think 64, 68, and 72 would have been way more bizarre than anything going on today.

This is probably one of the best primaries I have seen on the dem side in decades. That is not a shot at previous years candidates. I think with just two people our message is really getting out. Both Clinton and Sanders are talking about important issues to progressives every day. I have and will continue to say it is a great time to be a Democrat.
