(12,882 posts)I've been around long enough witness that there's NEVER been enthusiasm like this since I've been aware of who the "president" is. Not EVER. You younger sorts: make note of what you're seeing this year. It's going to be a BIG part of this country's history and you and your offspring's future.
Thomas Jefferson would be SO PROUD.

Waiting For Everyman
(9,385 posts)It's so cool to see all those people in line and not just read a number about how many were there. Every single one of those people is motivated enough to wait in the cold and deal with the crowd--it's hard to imagine that they won't vote if they're willing to put in that kind of time to see him.

(31,935 posts)Oh yeah, she doesn't do those anymore. Just $2,500 a plate fundraisers!

(26,549 posts)And Clinton supporters get very angry when you point out those intimate meetings have far fewer in attendance.

(18,775 posts)Smaller venues, restaurants & town halls are a good way to interact with and listen to voters.
Lorien
(31,935 posts)this is one of her comparable rallies, which really doesn't compare at all.

Lorien
(31,935 posts)and it will be at least half again as long, judging by the thousands still walking to the end of the line!

(39,451 posts)they will never come out to vote They'll just stand outside in freezing temperatures to hear Bernie speak about his "One Issue" but will never show up to vote.

That line had to be at least a mile long. Wow.

A little windy too.

(22,336 posts)But it feels pretty cold today for whatever reason. Usually when we come out of a cold snap every wants to wear short sleeves.
I know people who drove over there from here in West Michigan where I am. It is pretty huge.
geardaddy
(24,931 posts)Maybe it was the wind that made it feel cold too.
That's awesome that so many people were there!
I have a friend who teaches in Kalamazoo at Western Michigan. I wonder if he went.

(19,053 posts)Bernie mojo rising!
That's gotta be giving stomach cramps to the campaign managers of every other candidate running no matter what the party. They might as well pack up and drop out of the race. I really think Bernie has already won no matter what dirty tricks they have up their sleeves to put a thumb on the scale.

Absolutely fantastic!

(22,308 posts)Although I had my hood pulled up, I doubt anyone in the world would recognize me.
If you stop the video right at :30 there is a woman in a pink jacket close to the center of the screen, I was a few people ahead of her in a brown jacket.
I sure am glad I got there early. That was one long freaking line.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)No, they will just stand for hours in frozen butt conditions wondering if their toes will ever move again because they "aren't motivated."
Do you think those people are standing in line because there is no point in voting for Bernie, and they might as well go home because Hillary Clinton is inevitable?
I think that sometimes, the Democratic establishment thinks we are all stupid. That goes double for Hillary backers that state with smug authority that "Millennials won't vote."
Yeah, they are just standing there to meet guys. And because Madeleine Albright shamed them. And because Gloria Steinem said so.
Meanwhile, when they get tired of standing out in such clearly pleasant conditions, no doubt they will be hungry to buy Hillary campaign material, listen to her words of wisdom, and cheer as Bill Clinton ridicules those who are black and vote for Bernie, while he also back-handedly disses Bernie Sanders supporters that are white and under the age of 55.
