Economists Denounce Jobs Numbers Conspiracy
PEMA LEVY 10:30 AM EDT, SUNDAY OCTOBER 7, 2012
Conservative economist Douglas Holtz-Eakin and Moody's chief economist Mark Zandi both defended the latest jobs report under attack from some Republicans who said that Friday's drop in the unemployment rate is due to meddling from the Obama administration, in an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday.
"The numbers were collected in a professional way. It's the same procedures used every month," Holtz-Eaken said. "It's a statical anomaly, not a conspiracy."
Zandi called the accusations against the Obama camp "counterproductive." "I think it's counter-productive because it seeks to undermine the legitimacy of the political process," he said.

(25,253 posts)if they happen again to be a statistical anomaly in the other direction - who then will seek to undermine the legitimacy of the political process?
We all know that if the numbers went south a few days before the election the Repugs will use those against the Dems as well. We all know the Dems and the President will accept those numbers and not call that a conspiracy to fudge the numbers to help Rmoney win.
We have to let things like this last debate and these unemployment numbers not effect us. There's still plenty of time before this election for the President to turn up the heat. We have the VP debate and two additional Presidential debates.
Obama didn't perform bad at this last debate. He held his own and let Rmoney hang himself - which I think was a wise strategy. Fortunately the job numbers were in the right direction which lends credibility to his message and method.
Rmoney is doing a good job all by himself of shooting himself in the foot and sealing his fate. His lying and his flip-flops coupled by his 47% comments and trying to weasel out of his words now - is showing the American People what kind of man he is and what a bad leader for this country he'd make.
Now more than ever we need to stand behind the President and not criticize him for every move he makes that may not be exactly to our liking. We don't want to give the Repugs any more ammunition for them to twist. This is the time to band together and provide the support that is so unwavering that anything Rmoney and the Repugs say or do won't effect the outcome of this election in their favor. We also need to support the down ticket races so that we can take back the House and increase our majority in the Senate. We need to give the President a platform going forward in his next term to do all that he can do to bring this country back to its pre-Bushco excellence.

Have the hordes of Soros-financed, Alinksy-reading secret ACORN operatives infiltrated ADP as well?
