Related: About this forumChucky Todd: The democrats have a big problem and its the republicans are ahead in enthusiasm
Old chuck cheese is at it again no way I believe the rethugs are ahead in enthusiasm not from what I read hear on DU with people posting there in the fields like crazy helping to get out the vote. This Wall Street poll is full of shit Mike Papantanio predicted before the weekend that the media types would make this a horse race favoring Romney. If you look at the Gallup polling and a few others the polling hasn't shifted in a dramatic way as the Wall Street poll suggest http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/07/chuck-todd-republican-voters_n_1946586.html

(15,438 posts)Just to name a few things . . . we've seen his first term and the progress we've made. We see UE numbers drop. We see voter suppressors attacked and neutered. We see the economy rise (people are spending like nuts again). We see jobs added 31 consecutive months, and we all have seen an effective CoC of our Military.
I dare say now, President Obama will go down in history as one of the best presidents this country has ever had the honor of electing.
I'm with you, RichGirl.

(4,528 posts)ground zero for republicans. I have been watching for signs and I saw a total of 10 signs in a place that would normally have hundreds.

(44 posts)Our neighborhood has roughly 200 homes. For kicks, I drove through the entire neighborhood, counting Romney yard signs. A total of 12. 4 years ago, there were at least 50 McCain signs. I'm frustrated I can't find any Obama signs.

(35,345 posts)many Romoney signs but there are 20 times as many anti Obama signs than Obama signs. I have also traveled through much of rural PA, MD, VA,
WV and the Stop the War on Coal Fire Obama signs are everywhere.

(5,810 posts)That were not there before. I saw another one or two more on the route I was driving. None of this surprised me, just that it took so long to see any signs. In 2008, these same neighbors had signs much earlier in the campaign season. In fact, I have seen so few yard signs and bumper stickers this year that I was even wondering if they had gone out of style and were not being used by the campaigns. One thing I did notice when I looked on the websites of the candidates was the cost for the signs. I think I remember them being something $20 bucks which is more than I remember paying for my Obama sign in 2008. (My yard sign kept being moved and that spooked me quite a bit. I have read about violence and threats of violence here and other places and have chosen not to get a sign this year.)
In any case, if there is a bump in enthusiasm for Mitt/Paulie, that might get blunted after the debate with Biden and Ryan. I am counting on Biden taking that little punk down a notch or two. Oh, and exposing him for the heartless bastard that he is. Choir-boy face not withstanding......

(1,136 posts)Last week in my neighborhood, one Obama sign (besides mine) and zero R/R/Allen. Today - 2 Obama and 10 R/R/Allen.. big sigh. Good news is it is a huge red area and there are a TON less than in '08. I'm taking that as a positive.
Another positive...in the city, in the more affluent neighborhoods, ...TONS more O's than R's. And THAT is a sight to see.

(53,785 posts)Where did he pull that out of, his head or his a _ _? There's no lack of enthusiasm in all the people that I've registered. In fact they're eager to register, with many telling me they want to vote for Obama. And we've out registered repugs 2 to 1 here in Las Vegas. This conjecture of his I guess is why he's known as Chuck Toad.

(3,678 posts)Republicans have an "across the board" enthusiasm advantage over Democrats in NBC's polls that is the opposite of how the electorate looked four years ago.
Seventy-nine percent of Republican voters are "extremely interested" in the election, compared to 73 percent of Democrats. In 2008, Democrats led in this measurement by 13 points, Todd said.
And he's saying he thinks that's a problem (and if it's true, it is). I don't get it. Why does this make him a traitor exactly? 32 posts of people bashing Chuck Todd over this? O.o

(14,565 posts)and it was half way through the fourth quarter and the blue team was up 20 to 10 over the red team, it would be the equivalent of saying the blue team was in trouble because the red team cheer leaders were screaming louder.
NCLefty
(3,678 posts)The cheerleaders here all get to affect the outcome.
So what's the solution... should everyone who is going to vote Obama say only positive things about him and his campaign for the next month, no matter what they really think? Silencing people is the specialty of the other party (so I thought).
Cosmocat
(14,565 posts)Calling Chuck Todd for the corporatist POS he is has nothing to do with your or anyone else.
It is important because it if partisan framing driven to influence the thinking of the electorate by a media source who is supposedly unbiased.
The Rs and Romney have been behind in nearly every way most of this election, I never heard or read Chuck Todd say "they are in trouble" at any point.

(1 post)I think the enthusiasm to get out and vote is variable from State to State and different counties within those States. I live in two vastly politically different States: WA (Seattle) and AZ (Glendale) In WA State (west---coastal area like Seattle people are totally Obama crazy and that really pumps me up.) Just recently I traveled to my house in AZ for my 6 months of snow-bird fun and this is totally ROMNEYLIARVILLE (puke) I actually stopped looking at the polls because it was driving me nuts, and actually depressing me. The polls are all over the place, but I am assuming since the debate where Obama wasn't exactly at his finest (who the hell would have figured Obama would come across like a whipped dog?) Well, the debate is over so forward and upward, and I am assuming Obama might just give a bit of whip ass to that psychopathic flip-flopper. I personally think that in the next couple of weeks before the town-hall debate he needs to practice with a manipulating CEO/sociopath that lies about everything with a stupid ass grin on his face because he believes his own lies. All Obama needs to do, in a presidential way, is debate with Romney with lots of questions and a conversation that includes lines like, "Governor can you explain that in detail." "Governor the American people need more of an explanation --- can you elaborate please." Or, "This is how I feel and I think Governor Romney should explain in great detail his policies." Romney (Mr. CEO) doesn't like to be asked too many questions especially if they are fired at him fast ---- he will have a melt down and feel backed in a corner, then he will say something stupid.
If this week Biden takes that boy Ryan down into a complete puddle of messed up numbers the tables will turn to Obama and enthusiasm
with be on the Dem. side. With 30 days left until election day it will be back and forth but I a quite confident that our Commander and Chief will be reelected. If Obama can get over the Syria hurdle he has it in the bag. He needs to reduce the "I am so likable" persona and for 30 days maintain continuous psychological warfare on Mr. Romney turd ------ BRING UP THE 47% AND STAY WITH THAT! I just about laughed my head off today when CNN said Romney was showing a softer side of himself --- GIVE ME A BREAK! The dude is a bad actor that needs to up his lithium dosage.
Curmudgeoness
(18,219 posts)but I think that is highly unlikely......I am betting that all his debate tutorial is based on making sure that does not happen.
But we can dream, and hope it does happen.

(2,404 posts)President Obama apparently doesn't have an enthusiasm problem with individual money donors, or attendance at his speeches and rallies.
And it is well-known that many in the GOP were/are lukewarm about Romney at best.
