2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumEven if you hold your nose, can you imagine yourself casting your ballot for the Death Penalty?
There aren't enough fingers in the world to pinch my nose tight enough to keep that stench out.
As sure as the day is long, a vote for Hillary Clinton whether it be in the primary OR the GE is a vote for the Death Penalty.
I would mention that the Death Penalty is disproportionately applied to PEOPLE OF COLOR, but I won't. That would be almost unfair.
Vote for Hillary. Vote for the Death Penalty. Vote for the US GOVERNMENT killing its People of Color. Vote with pride.

(6,409 posts)If I have to vote for Clinton, I will, but that thought will definitely be on my mind. No real Democrat supports the death penalty.

Cognitive dissonance.

(24,853 posts)And I support a candidate, the ONLY candidate, who believes the way I do. What I think everyone should believe.

(2,125 posts)And it is racist in its application. No government should be in the business of killing its citizens, especially the ghoulish spectacle that is the DP in this country.

I don't think Sanders is going to single-handedly end the death penalty. I'm more focused on other issues where the president has the potential to make a significant difference.

(9,314 posts)When it was announced the death penalty was being abolished here in Maryland, I quietly cried for joy. Martin O'Malley did a lot of good -- some great -- things here. I was proud of my state for that.

And stop using "the US GOVERNMENT killing its People of Color", as a canard ... or, at least present her support honestly.
