The New York Times disclosed today that in a meeting held in a large Wall Street investor's office, big money donors instructed Secretary Hillary Clinton's campaign manager Robby Mook to go after Sen. Bernie Sanders for offering so-called unrealistic proposals and by claiming that all his solutions are related back to "millionaires and billionaires."
Not surprisingly those are exactly the attacks that the Clinton campaign is now dutifully lobbing.
With no small amount of irony, the mega-donors also asked Mook to highlight the Clinton campaign's support from small donors.
Jeff Weaver, campaign manager for Bernie 2016 said, "One of the biggest differences between our campaigns is that Bernies campaign does not take its marching orders from Wall Street and big money donors. It's shameful that the Clinton campaign is parroting attacks at Sen. Sanders that The New York Times has documented come right from her big money backers. Now we are beginning to get a glimpse into what goes on in all those closed door meetings with Wall Street interests."

(4,883 posts)Both parties now see that the American people are on the brink. Business and politics as usual is under assault. Now is the time to show our resolve. Anyone not standing for change is standing for the establishment.
Please America, do not let this chance slip away.

(24,411 posts)Isn't this incredulous?
Clinton gets millions from Wall Street in campaign donations and speaking fees. She insists that she's not beholden to Wall Street. Yet, here these powerful wolves sit, worried as hell that Hillary might lose and they offer advice to help her win.
It's a horrible, sick relationship that shouldn't even be allowed!
She just took a handful of big checks from Wall Street. Does she think we're stupid?
Unbelievable!

(458 posts)... and that is no more evidenced than her comment about being more than a "one issue" campaign... in her mind the whole constellation of concerns of the middle class, healthcare, education, jobs, environment, wages, etc, can all be bolied down to a single issue: the concerns of the NOT 0.1%...
Yes, no one like ourselves sits down at the REAL table with HRC...

(8,702 posts)Tired of being told by assholes with hundreds of millions of dollars or billions of dollars, trying to explain to me how they care about the middle class and poor, all while they continue to grow in wealth and I continue to shrink in wealth.
A family that has made over $200 million dollars in the last 10 years, giving speeches, trying to relate to someone like me? All while telling me my female family and friends are going to hell for not supporting them? While calling my family and friends "firewalls", talking about them as objects and not people.
Piss off.
