....and no one wants to be told they can't have things."
Really.
Is that what Obama's campaign manager really thinks of Democratic voters? And particularly voters of color, who are the ones always blamed by the right for wanting free stuff from Democrats?
Plouffe supports Hillary.

(16,286 posts)I think the only reason the Sander's camp hasnt gotten ugly is Bernie himself.
Bet your last dollar everybody around him is begging him to go negative.

And if it helps people decide to vote for Bernie because they really, really, really need someone to lend a helping hand, that's okay too.
The reality is the Bernie simply promises that fewer American sons and daughters will spill their blood in the interest of empire or oil, and that fewer children will go to bed hungry, and that those who graduate from high school will be able to go farther and those who graduate college will be able to find work, and that each American will have an equal voice on election day.....among other "gifts" that really are not gifts but birthrights as Americans.

(19,537 posts)The 1% have had the government officials they've bought for so many years be Santa Claus for them with tax policy, our military industrial complex, our prison industrial complex, and so many other ways that they've gotten that Santa Claus to gift them wealth redistributed from the masses to themselves.
That Santa Claus wasn't really about rewarding good and those that need to be given back what has been stolen from them for so many years. Times are changing, and the real spirit of a more traditional Santa Claus with a more traditional Democratic Party is thankfully returning to this country!

Health care... no more individual premiums from private insurance..very expensive...
increase taxes at a much lower level than we paid for premiums
Free College... transaction fee on Wall street speculation and a modest increase in the top tax brackets
How else do we get the money and wealth that the Trickle down economic plan and the Third way economic plan has redistributed to the top couple percent of our country

(10,749 posts)With some variations, sanders' msg is comparable to obama's. Sure, Bernie is more strident and perhaps less refined, but they were/are selling hope. Will Bernie achieve all his claims? Of course not. But neither has Obama and he's on my list as provably the best president in my lifetime.
