Please note, the College Republicans organization has some answering to do as they have already violated the cited law by encouraging such action:
Las Vegas, NV Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange released the following statement on reports Republicans may violate the integrity of the caucus process:
After reviewing Nevada law, we believe that registering under false pretenses in order to participate in the Democratic caucuses for purposes of manipulating the presidential nominating process is a felony. The Nevada State Democratic Party will work with law enforcement to prosecute anyone who falsely registers as a Democrat to caucus tomorrow and subsequently participates in the Republican caucuses on Tuesday.
Background:
NRS 293.800 states: A person who, for himself, herself or another person, willfully gives a false answer or answers to questions propounded to the person by the registrar or field registrar of voters relating to the information called for by the application to register to vote, or who willfully falsifies the application in any particular, or who violates any of the provisions of the election laws of this State or knowingly encourages another person to violate those laws is guilty of a category E felony and shall be punished as provided in NRS 193.130.

(15,429 posts)So long as they do not demonstrate ill intent by voting in the GOP Caucus on the 27th, not a thing will happen to those Republicans who choose to change their registration to Democrat and participate in the Democratic Caucuses.
