2016 Postmortem

Serious. I'm not even talking about Hillary. I remember Obama in 08 talking about campaign finance reform. I think I heard McCain mention it in 04 and maybe Kerry as well.
But last 4 years there literally is no politician who makes it a central component of their campaign. What is the Democratic party position on this? Even if they said we will fight and change, I wouldn't believe them given how they got elected in this system, but its worrying they don't even give lip service.
You ask a typical voter and 9/10 will say this system is corrupt. Sad state of affairs when the "good" guys pretend it doesn't exist.

The poverty rate hasnt been this high since the civil rights era.
Record high corporate profits yet wages as a share of the GDP have not been so low since 1929. The middle class now makeup less than 50% of income earners in this country because we are spiraling down ward
A right wing public education policy pushing a blame/fire the teachers philosophy and expansion of charter schools.
The national debt has gone from $9.8 trillion to $19 trillion to cover the one percents losses and misguided wars while they make major cuts to programs like food stamps and put SS on the chopping block.
This party and their agenda is favoring the 1% and the results are quite obvious.
