Romney adviser to LGBT conservatives: Some decisions ‘are going to offend you’

A senior adviser to Mitt Romney on Monday assured a group of LGBT conservatives that the Republican presidential nominee would be successful at winning the White House in November.

Speaking at GOProud’s “Unity” event, Bay Buchanan avoided any mention of LGBT issues but warned the audience that some of Romney’s decisions “are going to offend you.”

“I wanted to let you know how much the governor appreciates all the work you have done for him and your support of his efforts,” Buchanan said. “And to let you know that we are going to win this. We are going to win this.”


She pointed to last week’s debate performance against President Barack Obama as evidence that Romney could make a strong case for turning the country around.

They already know that their party is offensive to LGBT persons and, surprisingly, Log Cabin Republicans have demonstrated that they don't care about their basic human rights as long as they get more tax cuts. If it were the other way around, they wouldn't vote Republican.

Honest to God, I will never understand Republican LGBTs. How you can vote for a party that tells you with every breath they take that you're a sinner, an abomination, that you're evil to love who you love ... I just cry for them. The self-loathing they must feel to choose economics over dignity and respect ... It just breaks my heart.
