At Closed Fundraiser, Clinton Cites ‘security’ as Top Reason to Defeat Trump

LOS ANGELES — Hillary Clinton told an audience at a closed California fundraiser Monday that the top reason to defeat Republican front-runner Donald Trump in November is because of how his presidency would negatively impact the security of United States.

“There are a number of reasons to defeat Donald Trump, but chief among them is security,” Clinton said after a long riff about how Trump’s pitch to ban Muslims and other comments make it harder to work with Middle East nations and fight terrorism.

Clinton’s blunt comment, while casting Trump as a risk to the nation’s security, also leans into the chance that Trump could end up as the Republican standard bearer.

Trump handily won the South Carolina primary on Saturday, his second victory in his party’s nominating process.

Clinton did not mention another Republican by name at the $2,700-a-head fundraiser but repeatedly hit the party writ large.

I certainly trust her with the launch codes more than I do Donald.

His immigration policy may be worse than hers (although sending children home to their death isn't exactly a wonderful policy) but she is much more likely to start another war.

He gets his information from "the shows" and said he knows more than experts on any given topic. He's as gullible as his followers.

3. Trump could quickly destroy US standing around the world

No one would take the US seriously and those vying for power would go for it to test his mettle and there are a lot of screwballs who want the limelight even more than the Donald.

In a recent conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, Sec. Kerry mentioned the alarm of numerous world leaders about Trump's rise.
Robert Reich has mentioned the concern of Mexicans ("what is happening up there?&quot .

And the worry is not just about Trump - it's about our fellow citizens. It's about his popularity with way too large a chunk of the electorate.

Does Hillary not understand that killing people pisses their families and friends off?

He'd have the US in a war with Putin, Assad, you-name-it. The man thinks the world can be run like a reality show.

I can't believe I even read that statement on a Democratic discussion board.

9. You do know he was a Democrat at one time? I don't think anyone really knows what he thinks.

I don't even believe he wants to be President. You also know he golfs with Bill and the Clintons attended his wedding, right? Why would they do that if they thought he was so evil?

I have no love for Trump. He is a pretentious asshole and would make a terrible President. But that doesn't make him more likely to start a war than Hillary who is definitely a war hawk.

He's truly low on the scale of assholes, too.

There's something about his assholery that I wouldn't want to get contaminated by.

It doesn't matter anyway, the R's will go with Rubio or Kasich.
The D's will run with Clinton.

It will be a contest between dumb and dumber, and people will be asked to sign on to the consequence of either choice.
There'll be nowhere to hide from it.
