HRC supporters, how do you imagine Hillary responding to this line of attack from DT?

i'm quoting from a much larger opinion piece which has been linked a couple times this morning, but i don't think we need the whole article to look at this aspect of it.
it is entirely hypothetical, but i can definitely see it happening.

premise: Hillary and Trump are the nominees, Trump levies this attack on her character during a debate

“She lies so much. Everything she says is a lie. I’ve never seen someone who lies so much in my life. Let me tell you three lies she’s told. She made up a story about how she was ducking sniper fire! There was no sniper fire. She made it up! How do you forget a thing like that? She said she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, the guy who climbed Mount Everest. He hadn’t even climbed it when she was born! Total lie! She lied about the emails, of course, as we all know, and is probably going to be indicted. You know she said there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq! It was a lie! Thousands of American soldiers are dead because of her. Not only does she lie, her lies kill people. That’s four lies, I said I’d give you three. You can’t even count them. You want to go on PolitiFact, see how many lies she has? It takes you an hour to read them all! In fact, they ask her, she doesn’t even say she hasn’t lied. They asked her straight up, she says she usually tries to tell the truth! Ooooh, she tries! Come on! This is a person, every single word out of her mouth is a lie. Nobody trusts her. Check the polls, nobody trusts her. Yuge liar.”

the question for HRC supporters is, how does Hillary respond? or more precisely, how do you envision Hillary responding to this line of attack?

my position, in case you think i'm trolling or propping Sanders: still undecided, my vote is irrelevant to the primary (i live in Oregon), but i'm very nervous about the GE.

if Hillary is the nominee, i don't see her GOP opponent (probably Trump) giving her the Sanders-esque courtesy of not bringing up the emails.

Truly... a Trump-Clinton race is just too fucking hideous to contemplate. All the tedious bullshit of the last 30 years regurgitated in one grand, vomitous, 4 month long spectacle: Monica, Serbia, Benghazi, Paula Jones, Ivanka, Ivana, The Apprentice, all of the corners Trump HAD to have cut ( i.e. laws he HAD to have broken)in NYC and elsewhere to construct his phallic empire...etc.etc.etc.

The idiot US media will salivate but world markets will be undone by the horror. By the tsunami of stupid and crazy.

The worst Trump can do to Sanders is call him a communist. Sanders can laugh and try to explain to him the difference between communism and democratic socialism.

Trump won't get it.... but enough people will.

Maybe this country needs to get the Clinton corruption and Republican crazy out our collective system.

DT attacks her character as above

she responds by saying something like, "No political leader has been more smeared by big money interests than I have, much of what you're (Trump) saying is pure hogwash. If you're going to make those personal allegations, prove them."

depending on the format and circumstances, DT counterpunches with something like, "The proof is already there. Everybody's seen it. The FBI has seen it, and if i'm president you'll (Hillary) be indicted. Your trustworthiness numbers are rock bottom, because you're a lying liar, and a threat to national security." he can press this line of attack just by calling her a liar who's undergoing federal investigations.

we have to expect something like this if it's HRC vs. DT, because his strengths lie in character assassination, rather than public policy details, and he'll do whatever it takes to keep the focus on character rather than policy.

...which as the full article says, makes Hillary his ideal opponent. Bernie just doesn't provide all that useful ammunition. I also posted about this in a more detail at http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511335801

...and for whatever reason, no Hillary supporter has posted a good response to this problem in either thread.

Or something ridiculous like that...

Good luck getting an answer, by the way. The HRC contingent here doesn't deal with policy or future GE realities. They just REALLY want HRC as our nominee no matter how terribly it goes.

I was here for Lazio.

I knew Lazio.

Lazio was ( not) a friend of mine.

Trump is no Lazio.

The uncomfortable truth is:

He's going to eat her ALIVE.
