2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forum"Bring to heel" = "subjugate", and I think it's that tone I find most offensive.
We live in a democracy, not a monarchy. You don't subjugate ANYONE in a democracy; you ask them what they want, how they feel, and if you are even going to pretend to be their public servant, you attempt to accommodate them as best you can.

(3,226 posts)Hillary has given lip service on the issue of race for so long she even believes her own lies that she cares and when confronted with her own words her response is "No One has Ever Asked Me That Before"

(8,064 posts)She was talking about stopping the violence of gang activity that was gripping the nation at the time.
How do you accommodate someone who has murdered someone just because they were bored that day and showed no remorse afterward? How do you accommodate someone who pays a new gang member money to murder a rival gang members mother as "pay back"?

(45,319 posts)saying. She's talking abut kids. That's her word of choice. She does not paint the pictures you paint of hardened killers, she says kids. Her verbiage is reckless in that sense if in no other. If they are kids and we are adults they are our failure. What does Hillary say 'we can talk about that later, first bring them to heel'. Which is a dog training term. Used about kids or killers or something. Killer kids? 'Talk about our own responsibilities after we bring them to heel'
It's ugly speech.

(20,450 posts)(Note: Both campaigns are pretending to care about black people. Yes, BOTH! Many black people are well aware of how both campaigns are exploiting race and pretending to care about race/racism by using black surrogates. This is something that we notice and fully understand is happening.)
