Voter turnout: my advice to the Democrats

Rachel has done a few stories about the low voter turnout for Dems.

Picture this, if you are walking down a nice street with trees and houses and you see one house where there are a lot of people sitting around quietly talking and then see another where they are all laughing and happy and excited. . . .which are most people drawn to? The one with the excitement and happiness. They want to find out what all the excitement is about. Once there you may ask what all those people in the other house are talking about, but you'd go to find out what is making all those people excited.

Now think of the national media coverage of the campaigns, even on MSNBC, it's Trump, Trump, Trump and the GOP and all the carnival. Not much on Bernie or Hillary.

I remember when Obama was running there were all those stories about the venues he was filling. And then in Colorado he filled an entire stadium (I think). The phenomenon was REPORTED. People got interested and wanted to find out about the excitement they were seeing. But then this year - - media blackout.

I think if Bernie was never on TV again, and they didn't talk about any of his policy issues, but just showed that video of the 3/4 mile long line in Michigan, and the Yuuuuuge, lines and crowds in Kansas and Oklahoma. . . those images alone with some reporting on their size and how long people waited. . . THAT would get up the enthusiasm on the Democratic side.

The Democrats are making a mistake to squash down the excitement that is happening. If they don't get excitement for their side, the other side will win. You can't win with money alone (ask Jeb about that). It is the excitement and energy that does it (ask Trump about that). Trump has spent hardly any of money and God knows his command of the issues is non-existent. . . but what is it he has? The energy. And the Democrats have someone generating more energy than Donald, but they are choosing to hide him under a bushel.

As long as they will protect the status quo.

Bernie is a threat to that status quo. Hillary is not. Pretty sure The Donald is not either

The DNC and corporate media have been trying their damnedest to convince people the democratic primary coronation of Hillary is a foregone conclusion. Maybe some people are buying into this propaganda. Maybe people don't want to get fired from their jobs by taking off an entire day to attend a caucus. Yes, for millions of people Saturday is just another work day. Maybe Saturday is their only day off to get personal stuff done before going back to work on Sunday. In the only primary where you could vote and go home within 5 or 10 minutes, Bernie got the most votes in history by far.
