Related: About this forumGeorgia State students say they were bounced from Clinton rally over BLM sign
Mwanda and Husbands claim they were kicked out of the rally for writing Black Lives Matter on the back of a Clinton sign.
Why are these three words such a threat to her and her campaign? Mwanda said.
Clintons campaign said late Friday that neither the campaign nor the Secret Service ejected anyone from the rally. Late Friday, a spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department confirmed that two people were escorted out of the event for having signs, but didn't say who made the order.
Mwanda said once she and Husbands got to City Hall, they were put in a holding area for students. At some point, a campaign staffer gave Mwanda a sign reading, Ready for Hillary.
I didnt want to hold it, because I dont know if I am supporting her yet, Mwanda said. I gave it away, but it made its way back to me.

(4,713 posts)Come to find out it in fact wasn't them, it was the Atlanta PD bc they had signs. At least direct the outrage at the right ppl.

(9,086 posts)It was for the words on the sign: Black Lives Matter.
Police don't kick you out for that unless the request came from the campaign event staff.

(9,086 posts)The only way they eject you for a sign would be on request of the property or event staff.

(9,086 posts)Black Lives Matter. Terrifies the Clinton campaign apparently. We need to get to the bottom of this and find out who's responsible so they can apologize and be fired.

from "awkward for her" photos on the evening news. Her image to too carefully controlled for that.
That's what this was about as much as anything else. Plus Ashley Williams really spooked her. Hillary doesn't want to be asked questions her staff hasn't scripted her forLike Ashley did.

16. Yeah it happened.
I was on my phone and when I looked up Ashona was gone, Mwanda said. She wasnt loud. She wasnt chanting. I just looked up and she was gone. A few moments later, someone came for me. The students said staffers and men with green military-type uniforms and bullet proof vests took the students in the hall and, according to both of them, told them that their signs and messages were inappropriate and that they would have to leave.

(9,086 posts)Cops don't just randomly kick people out without a request from event staff.
Obviously the Clinton campaign has no respect for these young people.
This needs to be investigated to find out who gave the order to eject these young people and why.
Whoever did it should be fired now and the campaign should apologize.

Gotta make sure that everything is staged, sanitized and propagandized.
Wouldn't want to go off script, now would we?

They were not disruptive in any way, except by having a sign that read Black Lives Matter.
Words that strike fear into the hearts of liberals everywhere apparently. Or at least Team Clinton.

(7,160 posts)The Police put them out
CoffeeCat
(24,411 posts)The police are there because the campaign requested them. They are instructed and given parameters.
We're used to seeing this happen at Republican rallies. I remember Bush throwing people for protesting. Trump, of course, throws people out if his psycho Spidey sense kicks in and he wants them out.
So yeah. The police don't just throw someone out for holding a sign. They work at the behest of the campaign.
I went to quite a few Bernie rallies and I don't ever recall seeing a police presence there, EVER. I can't imagine that he'd have people kicked out. The crowd would probably boo them into submission!
Remember when the Black Lives Matter protesters showed up at Bernie's rally? Bernie simply stepped aside and allowed them to have the microphone. No police. No one was kicked out.

(39,451 posts)lie, why would AJC publish it?
CoffeeCat
(24,411 posts)The Atlanta Journal and Constitution reported on what happened. Clearly, there is an article written, witnessed interviewed and the women who experienced everything they did were interviewed and quoted.
Are people telling you not to believe your lying eyes?
I would trust the people who were there for the accurate account, not some keyboard jockey spewing blah blah blah on the interwebs. Right?
