I decided...I'm for Bernie - Since around about 1995

That's when I first started noticing this cranky guy in Congress who had this horrible habit of TELLING THE TRUTH.

The truth that the Clintons and most of the Democratic Politicians refused to acknowledge. They preferred to ape the Republicans in distancing themselves from those troublisome minorities, aligning themselves with the Wall St. mentality, covering up the rapacious behavior of corporate America.

They preferred the tepid, substance free campaigns and micro proposals that enabled the Oligarchs to continue to work behind the curtains.

The Democrats were selling the illusion that the economy was solid, and that we would never have another recession. Just endless growth because somehow normal economic cycles had become irrelevant. Remember that little whopper?

LOOK AT THE BIRD! Look at the bird. Don't pay attention to how communities were being decimated and abandoned. How both inner cities and rural areas were becoming hungrier and more desperate. LOOK AT THE BIRD. Look at all those Tech Millionaires. You can be one too! And make a fortune in real estate.

And let those banks and corporations continue to merge and become monopolies. After all, competition is so Old Economy.

And We have to get tough on crime. As Bill said 3 Strikes and you're out.

But there was good old Bernie. Shouting the truth to an arrogently amused Alan Greenspan. Pointing out what a disaster Free Trade was for workers, and domestic businesses. Calling the Crime Bill what it was --.A vengence bill.

Bernie was one of a small group of Truth Tellers in DC back then.

Back then I thought we need more like Bernie and Wellstone. It would be great if someone like that could make a serious run for President someday.

So I've been for Bernie ever since. And that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

And this is how it really happened and how it really is and for the life of me I don't understand how those supporting Hillary refuse to face that reality. It's like the poor in the south who keep voting in Republicans who keep them always down and helpless. Voting against your own interests isn't clever or brave or smart no matter how much fervent conviction you have.
