You are suggesting that AAs have to be told how to vote. Yes, I know you didn't mention race, but your intention is clear. Your post comes off as extremely paternalistic. Bernie wouldn't approve and you are not helping his campaign with this type of message. Please reconsider and edit your post or delete.

Former LDS here. It is almost a religious calling to corral the church vote. Very similar to what the congressional whips do. The LDS bankroll and membership, and the Black religious vote is what bouyed the anti-gay marriage amendment in CA. In the political arena, you have to know what you're dealing with before you develop a game plan.

No need to delete or edit facts.

Are you in SC? Have you been to any churches there? I'm betting that the good people of South Carolina are quite capable of deciding for themselves who to vote for in a presidential primary election. Do you think they need someone to tell them how to cast their votes? Do you pay any attention to people telling you how to vote?

I think you're supposing something that you have no evidence for. That's what I think.

I was on topic, OK?

The assertion embodied in your seminal post that folks won't do something without being instructed to do so by someone in authority robs them of agency, ergo:

I wonder how many congregations in SC

were told to vote for Hillary and if there was a memo that went around to pastors with their marching orders.

Jus' askin'

What part of suggesting a person can't function without instruction robs that person of agency don't you understand?

Thank you in advance.

This is a known phenomena, especially in the south, and candidates can ignore it at their peril. The Black and LDS religious vote, and money by the way, is what passed the anti-gay marriage amendment in CA (former LDS who left the church over this very matter.)
