All eyes on Indiana in U.S. Senate race - Joe Donnelly gives Dems a real chance

Joe Donnelly gives Dems a real chance at winning Richard Lugar's Senate seat.

-----

The race for U.S. Senate in Indiana is one of the most hotly contested in the country, as the outcome could help tip the balance of power in Washington.

According to some polls, Republican state treasurer Richard Mourdock is in a statistical dead heat with his opponent - Democratic Congressman Joe Donnelly.

WBEZ’s Michael Puente spoke with Donnelly this week about the race.

Mike’s first question to Donnelly, who is from South Bend, was did he think he’d be in this tight race given Indiana is a pretty red state?

or this is yet another epic fail for the democratic party - much like the fail a few years ago
in IL Dist Six-- where the DNC, Rahmbo and Dick Durbin insisted on running their hand-picked
candidate (Tammy Duckworth) instead of the perfectly good grass-roots candidate Christine
Cegelis who was very popular and would have won-- Duckworth lost and now we're stuck
with the hideous tea party asshat Peter Roskam.
