had a fight in a dunkin' donuts

So I'm a woman...and don't usually get into public brawls with men..BUT went into my local DD yesterday and was greeted by some loser in an anti-Obama shirt who had set up shop all over one of the tables-had another anti-Obama shirt draped over a chair that said "If you love Obama then you'll love Hugo Chavez". Guy walks in behind me and greets this guy and they start bashing Obama. The guy at the table was obviously getting out the vote, talking up Romney, passing stuff out. So I complained to the cashier. And the guy who had just walked in yells at me and says "Oh you're one of those. Yo're the reason the country is the way it is". I then say "Oh right, please. it's Bush and the republicans who drove the economy into a ditch". He has his kids with him or he was going to keep going. Meanwhile trust me when I tell you just from looking at this guy I make double what he does at least. And the guy at the table? Probably un-employed if he is sitting there all day. WHAT DO THEY THINK ROMNEY WILL DO FOR THEM?

Anyway--I called the mgr and left a message and said if they were only catering to republicans I wouldn't be back!

a Romney/Ryan win, these people will be lucky if they can afford a tent. I hate to sound so dismal on my fellow citizens, but a good portion of this country is really F'ed up. They walk around with their heads in the sand or up their butts.

We have a bank here with a Romney/Ryan sign so huge in front of it it almost touches the roof of the bank. It's on 4x4 posts and up so you can't miss it from the highway. Now, what does that say about who backs Romney/Ryan. If I had an account in that bank I would get my money out of there so fast the ink wouldn't have time to dry on my withdrawal/close account forms.

business. She feels people take advantage of the system. You see she does charity work with other dentists. Some of the patients are ingrates. She said when they come they are demanding and some are late as if her time isn't valueable. I see her point but I tell her not all are that way. I remember working on a military base and my husband being a chaplain's assistant and every year we would buy turkeys and all the side stuff the family could cook. You'd be surprised what people would drive up in to pick up the items. You'd see people with volvos, mercedes, and all type of expensive cars. To me that doesn't tell the full story. I think most of the time people are having hard times and you didn't see it so much when my husband was in but now today you see a lot in the same boat today but are to embrassed to show it. But the biggest problem is FOX NEWS. They promote the hate. If they win we will see how the country will finally brung to the brink. Hopefully then people will realize its not the dems but religious right republicans and Fox News.

perpetuating hatred. AM radio, for example, was on the brink of disaster until the RW media hate jocks drove into AM radio and revived it ... now they are invading FM radio and here and both AM and FM are filled with RW religion too. And some local TV channels have powerful Over The Air digital TV transmitters, very strong TV stations flood the local airwaves with some really strange RW religion. Murdock (the terrorist) discovered hate sells well with Fox News and it's invading/morphing into many areas of media by look-sound alikes.

The human psyche remembers and clings often to negate hateful news/events, but good stuff, not so much. It's a horrible recipe for the future of this country.

We don't have to worry we are destroying our own country and people are to dumb on the right to see they are being used. The rightwing media is using the religious right because they are easy to get them to do what they want. It is like the KKK when they finally got destroyed am waiting for that to happen with Fox News.

The fast food emporiums have televisions in them?

You can tell I haven't been inside one of them for about five or so years. Even so, I'm appalled. Not at the Fox part (although yes, Fox is despicable) but the fact that there's a TV on at all for the captive audience inside. What ever happened to reading a book or talking to whoever you're with?

Maybe the real, core, underlying problem in this country is that far too large a percentage of the population need to be glued to the idiot box all day long. PBS notwithstanding, watching TV, any TV 24-7 is not good. And if even the Mickey D's have TVs on in them, there's no hope at all.

McDs Has television here fornthose not sitting in the play palace area but it is a special channel that just shows a loop of little shows about the weather or technology. I'm pretty sure that if they switched to FOX people would complain and leave. Honestly I would if it was tuned to any news station. The news is designed to make viewers uneasy and outraged the exact opposite of a relaxing environment. Certainly not suitable viewing for children. Perhaps you can organize others to also request a change of channel?

Otherwise, can't fathom why anyone would vote for the party that keeps destroying the housing market, the stock market, personal wealth, and consumer confidence. I can only guess you are extremely wealthy, or extremely poor, otherwise, it makes zero sense financially to vote for a republican. Ever. You may think that your'e getting something financially, like tax breaks, but it ends up costing you more in the end.

Just so curious.. how many housing and banking crashes, and stock market crashes, do we need to endure under republicans, before you guys figure it out. When 35% of America's wealth is now in the hands of a handful of people (when it was 9% of the wealth under Reagan,) you will never see your financial dreams come to fruition, when your neighbors are struggling because their jobs were sent to India and China, and services were cut to give more money to the handful of people.

Again.. I wish you well, as you're obviously extremely wealthy and will never need public schools, police. firefighters, stock income, or health care.

clearly spelled out in the TOS. So please don't be surprised or confused if your account is blocked. You've said this is to be your only post, so it probably doesn't matter either way.

Also, I would engage you on the "middle of the road" Republican thing. It must be awfully lonely. The crazies and the Flat Earthers have taken over the GOP. There once was a time when moderates had a voice in that party; it sure doesn't seem like that anymore.

When you have to disavow science and reality, when you have to sign pledges to Grover Norquist, when you have to promise to extend personhood to single cells, attack gay people, cozy up to groups that advocate outlawing contraception and the like, to win primaries in the GOP, the party has a big problem.

And the increasing irrationality, the out of touch ness, is only going to get worse for you guys. Demographically, long-term, the Republican Party is in trouble.

I would encourage you to consider switching sides. There is only one major party in America that is still run by rational people dedicated to fairness and critical thinking. It's not the GOP.

Lastly, I would agree with you about the LaRouche people, such as they are. They were insane 30 years ago, and they still are.

is based on Romneycare? Why would you want to elect a man who wants to DO AWAY with the only thing that is saving your best friend who is dying?

Does the phrase "Voting against your own self-interest" mean anything to you?

And you need to understand that those who use emergency rooms as a first stop don't have a primary care physician because they have no health insurance. That's why they wind up going to the ER as the first stop. Romneycare probably pretty much ended that, and that's one of the things the ACA is intended to change.

Republican why are you voting for Romney? Do you think he is, at heart, a moderate himself? Let's say, for the sake of discussion, that Romney is indeed a moderate, what makes you think he will be allowed to govern as a moderate? Do you dislike Medicare? Social Security? Are you independently wealthy with a few million already socked away for your retirement? I am asking in all sincerity, because I really don't understand why anyone who is not independently wealthy would support the Republican agenda. Even if you are pro-life, what good will it do you if we have a million babies born every year to women who can't afford them and don't want them? Will you really feel better reading in your local paper about the 15th baby, that year, found dead in a dumpster?

Didn't know they had tvs. We sat down, and I see Fox News is on. There was hardly anyone there so I asked the manager for the remote or to change the station. I was informed it HAS to be on Fox because the owner insists. I said, "Well we won't be coming back to any McDonalds." That reminds me I need to go to their website and lodge a complaint.

Also, our Republican friend who joined us was at least very reasonable and not over the line, so I say welcome.

My bank used to have Pox Noise playing on its in-branch monitors. I complained several times - to the teller who helped me and to the manager at the far end of the room at one of the business desks. I'm a retired journalist. Their brand of alleged "journalism" offends me deeply!!!

Eventually they changed it to CNBC. Then I went in and thanked them, saying it was noticed and appreciated.

Sometimes it really does make a difference to complain. ESPECIALLY if you're a regular customer. Times are still tough. They don't DARE wanna piss off anybody and risk losing a customer. It's not a risk that too many of them can afford to take anymore.

I ALWAYS complain.

NEVER be afraid to complain. Sometimes they just didn't think it through before you brought something offensive like that to their attention, or it simply didn't occur to them. And if they're assholes and don't comply, then at least you've let them know that this is greatly displeasing to YOU, THEIR CUSTOMER, and that not everybody they hope to serve will appreciate this shit. Whether they appreciate your opinion or not, they STILL appreciate your coming in and spending your money. What if you stopped?
