Related: About this forumAny news on Hillary releasing those transcipts?
Or is she waiting until The Donald demands them?

(27,815 posts)But he doesn't have any way of forcing HRC to give in to those demands.
So what's your point?
Live and Learn
(12,769 posts)that he won't ask for her transcripts and she won't ask for his tax returns? And then they simpyl agree to get along and draw straws for P and VP placements. Is that how you see it going down?
I'm guessing you might be okay with that.

(643 posts)We, fellow democrats want to see them. I want to make an informed decision and know who it is that I'm voting, or not voting for. What those transcripts do or do not show will help me make that decision. And not releasing them is also affecting my decision. And no, we are not going to stop asking for them. She has the right to refuse, just as we have the right to see that as obstructionism; just one more issue that casts doubt on her integrity. If she wants our vote now, or if she gets the nomination, in the GE, she needs to earn it. It doesn't just happen because she is a democrat. We're not sheep that she can expect to fall into line.
NanceGreggs
(27,815 posts)... and I couldn't care less about the transcripts, just as most Democrats couldn't care less. So your use of "we" is inappropriate.
The only people who have expressed any interest in those transcripts are BS supporters, who are hoping to find a "gotcha" statement to use against HRC. And those people only started clamouring for transcripts when it started to sink in that Bernie isn't going to win the nomination, and his only prayer was finding a major negative to damage HRC with.
Those transcripts are a total non-issue to everyone other than Bernie people.

(643 posts)It should be all democrats who are concerned (in my opinion) but, yes, it appears to make no difference to the HRC fans. I just find it really disappointing that Clinton supporters are so quick to dismiss the fact that she did the paid speeches to the very companies she claims she'll reign in. And then the same supporters are equally as quick to dismiss the idea of transparency. I think it potentially shows a real divide within the party when it comes to how these cozy relationships are viewed.
And while you may dismiss it as only being an issue for Bernie people, I'm pretty sure HRC would like those people to support her in the GE if she gets the nomination. I'll tell you what, when you add up all the baggage I think we can find more than one "major negative"; the speeches, the email investigation that isn't going away, the "one issue candidate" smears, the opposition to reinstating Glass Steagall, the TPP stance, the vote in Iraq (which destabilized the region, as Sanders predicted), the no-fly zone, and many more things that Sanders supporters take issue with- that's a lot to expect people to overlook when the GE rolls around. Just for the "greater good" of the party. Votes have to be earned. Shrugging off a large portion of your base is not earning it.

(27,815 posts)You begin by saying, "I want to make an informed decision and know who it is that I'm voting, or not voting for. What those transcripts do or do not show will help me make that decision."
You then respond by rattling off a list of Hillary's "baggage" - which seems incredibly indicative of someone who has already made up their mind, and has researched the topic far beyond what is necessary to make an "informed decision".
It is obvious that being so "informed", you are not likely to be wanting those transcripts in order to have your mind changed, or to gather information that would negate all of the "baggage" you've alluded to.
Surely you don't expect anyone to believe that you hoped to read through those transcripts and, finding no evidence of anything even remotely untoward, would have been "informed" enough to vote for Hillary despite all of her negatives.
In other words, the only reason you'd like to see those transcripts would be in hopes of finding something additional to add to add to the baggage stockpile.
Thanks for illustrating my point so well.

(643 posts)The transcripts would do me little good personally, that's true, as unfortunately for HRC, I am indeed an informed voter. It's funny/sad to see the general comments as to why people support her. It usually focuses on her "experience." What a joke. What good is experience if that experience is littered with a trail of poor decisions? Her atrocious track record that I laid out is simply indefensible for a democratic presidential candidate, particularly when it is in such stark contrast to her opponent. How many times have I posted these points about her? These are actual issues, not just "I think she's a liar" kind of rhetoric. I've found nobody who has been able to contradict anything I've pointed out about her.
I get it, she's in a no-win situation here, as there are quite potentially things that could be taken out of context, or if you were to be honest, quite possibly at the very least some mild to moderate complimentary things said about the workings of Wall Street. But guess who put her in that position to begin with? You sell your soul, you pay the price. I only hope that she does and that other people see her for the fraud that she is. Especially when there is an authentic candidate out there who isn't pocketing money from Wall Street and isn't under investigation..

(16,974 posts)That most sadly have a short attention span. She and her supporters are fine without a thorough vetting. It is her turn, she is a woman and she has been announced by the DNC and DWS.

We in California have spent many hours phone banking to campaign in states having earlier primaries. We need you guys to do the same for the states still to vote and to canvass, table and show support any way you can. Don't quit just because you have voted
We must work together to do this or live with the consequences and I don't think even the planet can do that.

Not everyone will share the leaps of logic you have to go through to believe she said anything sinister. It's really sad to see Bernie spreading nothing but divisiveness like this.

His presumptions and leaps of logic are insults to people's intelligence. You have to have the emotional connection to his propaganda to believe it. The logic is missing quite a few steps.
