WIll.i.am endorses Hillary Clinton

Hip-hop artist backed then Sen. Barack Obama over Clinton in 2008

Mar 03, 2016

(CNN) —Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am just can't get enough of Hillary Clinton.

The Grammy-winning hip-hop artist, who backed then Sen. Barack Obama over Clinton in 2008, is now backing the Democratic presidential front-runner's presidential bid.

"There's a lot of things that @BernieSanders stands for that I agree with... but @HillaryClinton is the one to get things done," will.i.am tweeted Thursday.

The singer also re-tweeted Clinton on Super Tuesday, writing "I'm not just standing...I'm walking, running, stomping, marching with this #strongLEADER...#womanPOWER."

will.i.am's reason for supporting Clinton echoes the argument that Clinton, herself, has repeatedly made to counter the Vermont senator's claims that she is not a true progressive.

"I'm a progressive who likes to get things done," Clinton told CNN's Anderson Cooper during CNN's Democratic town hall last month.

It's a shame people like this drink her koolaid. Can Hillary Clinton get things done? Probably. Will she get things done the American people actually want her to do? That is much less likely.

The real question is "Can you trust her to actually do the things that she says she will during the campaign?" Not on your life.

She wants to get elected after that all bets are off, because she has too many people and Wall Street firms to repay for their extremely generous support. Especially if she wants that support again in another 4 years.

Certainly better than "Killer" Mike with regard to how well he's known and the likely influence he'll have. (As far as celebrity endorsements go, that is.) I certainly expect that his behavior will be much more becoming than Susan Sarandon and that he's unlikely to drop f-bombs against those who aren't supporting Hillary.

Go, Hillary! We love you!

I guess he's not convinced the federal government should be drowned in a bathtub. Kind of a strange position for any Democrat to lose their sh#t over but that's his 40-million-dollar message.
