2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumNebraska's Largest Paper Endorses Hillary Clinton
Hoping to build enthusiasm and gain a stronger voice in their partys presidential nominating process, Nebraska Democrats gave caucuses a try in 2008.
It worked. This election year, neither Democratic candidate is taking Nebraska for granted. After the candidates split the Super Tuesday states, Nebraska becomes a battleground as Democrats prepare to caucus on Saturday.
While both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders bring strengths and weaknesses, caucus-goers would help their party most by giving their support to Hillary Clinton.
Sanders, the Vermont senator and selfproclaimed democratic socialist, has given voice to those on the left who are as angry with the system as are some Donald Trump voters on the right. Sanders straight talk and spurning of special-interest political action committee donations have helped rally enthusiastic younger voters.
At the same time, his strong ideological bent hampers his ability to build needed coalitions, while promises of free college tuition and a single-payer health care system are unrealistic. His lack of foreign policy expertise is worrisome.

(6,007 posts)As I've said before, the corporate media endorses the bought and paid for corporate schill. What else would you expect with the state of the MSM these days?
Surprise, surprise.
And honestly, if they endorsed Bernie, it would make very little impression on me either. What DOES make an impression are all those pictures of all those inspired people in those Yuuuuge crowds that come to see Bernie. That speaks to me. That is inspiration.
