When Andrea Mitchell knows you're lying - wow - watch DWS try to defend Hillary.

I know! She would never lie.

DWS tries to defend Hillary's lie but Andrea is not having it.
Video at link....
http://wp.me/p3rVTb-19bU

Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was not happy with MSNBC’s questioning of claims Hillary Clinton made about joining the Marines.

In fact, Schultz seemed downright testy as she asked host Andrea Mitchell, “Why on earth are we talking about this?”

On Friday’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Mitchell played a video of Clinton retelling the story of how she tried to join the Marine Corps in the 1970s and was rejected.

Mitchell said the story “doesn’t track” with Clinton’s biography and even pointed out that Washington Post fact checker, Glenn Kessler, gave the claim two pinocchios.

Mitchell tried to reconcile Clinton’s claim with the fact that she was very anti-war at that time, and presented the question to Wasserman Schultz.

Washington Post didn't buy her lie either
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2015/11/12/hillary-clintons-claim-that-she-tried-to-join-the-marines/

Neither did the NYT
http://www.nytimes.com/1994/06/15/us/hillary-clinton-says-she-once-tried-to-be-marine.html

The Marines themselves also questioned it, but did not go as far as calling it a lie

Fri Mar 4, 2016, 04:15 PM
Mar 2016

There's always a kernel of truth in her stories. She did land in Bosnia. She just got the sniper part wrong. I think she did go and talk to a recruiter. The issue is why?

I mean, she'd gone down there to marry him. She was handed a job at the Arkansas Law School because of her connections with him (cause brand new lawyers with no experience as licensed attorneys don't get hired to teach at law schools - she never even made law review! and no advanced law degree). She'd put all her eggs in one basket, and HRC was never one to admit a mistake (which is why she hid for decades, even from her closest friends, that she'd failed the D.C. bar exam). I think the whole episode could have been, "I'll call off the wedding, run away from you & join the military, and how will you explain that to everyone? Unless you promise me you'll never do (fill in the blank) again. And never having passed the D.C. bar exam, she couldn't go back there. Wonder if she even told Bill about that at the time.

Now what could he have done? Hmmmmm?

Like I've always said, Shakespeare could write a three play tragedy/history about those 2.

In the earlier discussion of this incident some months back, there was a quote from Bill laughing about how she'd gone to a recruiting office.

Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, repeated the story — swapping the Marines for the Army — while addressing a crowd in Columbus, Ind., in April 2008, according to an ABC News report.

Possibly to avoid being one-upped on Indiana national security politics, former President Bill Clinton told a crowd in Columbus, Indiana, today that his wife had tried to join the Army.Listen to an excerpt HERE. "I remember when we were young, right out of law school, she went down and tried to join the Army and they said 'Your eyes are so bad, nobody will take you,'" he said, after heralding her record on issues of concern to the military, such as body armor and access to health care.I assume this is a version of the "Hillary Clinton tried to join the Marines" anecdote that then-First Lady Clinton told in 1994 that we wondered about since it's a story she never seems to have told again. The original story was that in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 1975, Hillary walked into a local Marines recruiting office. The Marine recruiter looked at her, she recalled, and asked how old she was. Twenty-seven, she said."He looked at me, and in those days that was before I learned how to wear contact lenses," Sen. Clinton told a crowd of women veterans in 1994. "I had these really thick glasses on. He said, ‘How bad's your eyesight?' I said, ‘It's pretty bad.' …Finally said to me, he said, 'You're too old. You can't see. And you're a woman.…But maybe the dogs would take you.'&quot "Dogs" being a reference to the Army.)Perhaps she did so -- and hence Bill Clinton's Army story today?Or maybe he's conflating the two stories?(Add that Bosnian sniper fire, and you might have something there that Julia Roberts would want to option.)-- jpt
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/04/bill-clinton-sa.html

The Washington Post tracked down some of Clinton’s friends who confirmed that she approached the recruiter but said she did not actually want to enlist.

Because she doesn't have enough of a legit problem with her current and historical stance on issues? That is what we should be addressing, not petty stuff like this.

Seems most likely something she said just to bolster support among military members. Couple that with the fact that a lot of her friends from that period were surprised when she recently said she tried joining the Marines and you have a story that just doesn't quite add up.

I hope America wakes up and keeps her from the presidency. I have no reason to believe she cares about the 'lesser' people and would assume she's take the side of a servaillence-state. That's be bad for freedom lovers and bad for those that like seeing dems get elected to the House and Senate.

Look how adept she was in avoiding combat fire in her tour in Bosnia. That training really paid off.

Oh...that kind of tour. Carry on.

with the exception of a gaggle of holdouts here on DU, it seems like no one thinks she's remotely competent, much less likable.

She's about as popular as a root canal.

bernie took out andrea's husband greenspan some years ago during a congressional hearing (thusly she never pays deference to bernie or his surrogates on tv); debwasschult or her surrogates must'ave committed something egregious for her to actually assume the personage of traditional/classic reporter/journalist?

75. The real horror, or laughability, of this whole thing

is not even so much the actual story.
But-- just look at and listen to Mitchell and DWS, as she has become known. Two gas bags- both incompetent at what their jobs are supposed to be, just blathering at each other.. Mitchell pretending to be a .. what, I don't know a "urinalist?", a script reader..who can't even ask a simple question.... and Schultz, throwing smoke grenades while she runs for cover (don't forget to show those teeth, Debbie), the wheels spinning inside her head at the speed of light,,,gears crunching, trying to find 5th gear...WHICH she finally reaches after maybe 30 seconds, and she's off into her talking points- "Whew!"

And then there is the subject of all this hot air...

But, I need not even start on that.. need I.

and the bosnia sniper fire.

I'm pretty sure at some point we'll hear that she was the one who personally found Saddam Hussein.

... if she thinks it will assist her ambition.

And by November 2016 every voter in the country is going to know and understand that character flaw.

Democrats are going to be so sorry if they nominate her.
