2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHorrible weekend for Bernie...
He wins 3 of 4 states, but doesn't make up any ground in the delegate count.
And he's about to lose ground on in MI and MS on Tuesday.

(14,157 posts)Bad weekend for Bernie, indeed.
Hillary is even clobbering him in tonight's debate.

book_worm
(15,951 posts)where turnout is low and activists are the ones who mostly do turn out. Then you have a state like Louisiana which has a very diverse electorate where turnout is much larger than the three states that Bernie won put together. Now we will have a string of primaries ahead of us: Michigan, Mississippi, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, North Carolina which have lots of delegates and according to most polls favor HRC.

(44,228 posts)Cross another 4 off the list after today.
Down to 31 now.
Almost 40% of the states have chosen, and he's massively in the hole.
And it's about to get worse.

(50,254 posts)What is it about nominating an actual progressive that bothers you so much?
HRC can't get any votes in the fall that Bernie couldn't get, and the polls show him getting MORE votes then.

(6,829 posts)I didn't know that.
That's a huge ding against Sid for his opinions.

(9,313 posts)A gain no matter how you slice it.
Targets from:
http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/election-2016/delegate-targets/
Going into March 5
--------------------
Cumulative Won/Target
410/492
(which is 83% of target)
March 5-6
-----------------------

Total Delegates
Won/Target
KS
33
23/19
LA

14/18

I don't know how 64.2% translates to 14/25 (given that 14 is 56% of 25), but 14 is what's being reported. Perhaps someone can explain
----------------
Coming out of March 6
476/559 (85.1%)
March 8 Targets (which seem reasonably achievable to me):

MI
xx/67 (51.5% if allocated based on percentages)
36
MS
xx/13 (36% if allocated based on percentages)

Your MI prediction is way off base. MS is pretty much the same as South Carolina.

Sanders had more delegates this weekend. Pledged. Since that is all that counts before the convention.

For the weekend, out of 134 delegates at stake, Sanders will win at least 66 and Clinton at least 63. Five delegates remain to be allocated in Maine.

(26,549 posts)Sanders won more delegates this weekend. How many more depends on the rest of Maine's results.
