She needed Bill.

She rode Bill's coat tails to power. He had the intellect (Georgetown Univ, Rhodes Scholar, Yale Law), charisma, gift of gab and natural ability to connect with people. She was smart, too (Wellesley, Yale Law) like many, many woman from Seven Sister/Ivy League schools. After law school, she went to DC to work on the Nixon impeachment committee, but her stint there did not last long because, among other reasons, she did not pass the DC bar. She, of course, tells the story that she went to work for the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) founded by Marian Wright Edelman as evidence of her advocacy for children and that's true... 30 years ago. But recall that Marian’s husband, Peter Edelman who became Bill Clinton’s Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services, resigned in protest over the 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act better known as Welfare Reform because of the dire effects it would have on the poor, especially women and children. Has anyone heard from the Edelmans yet in this 2016 cycle?

Anyway, after leaving DC, what did HRC do? She ran off to Arkansas! Yes, this dynamo of feminism whom so many women from my generation say could have done anything, been anything on her own… did not go back to her native Chicago, did not go back to New England (MA, CT) where she was educated. No, she ran off to Arkansas. She chased after Bill because she recognized his rising star. He had the talent to go along with the intellect. He had earned and held leadership positions nearly all his life: high school (Boy’s State) and college (class president for 2 years, etc.). He became Governor, chaired the National Governors’ Association and finally became POTUS. It was only through him that she was introduced to the nation and even then, it was rocky because of her abrasive remarks about baking cookies. That abrasiveness and lack of people skills has not changed.

When she ran for POTUS in 2008, she cited her 20 years of experience. Really? First Lady of AK for 12 years and FLOTUS for 8 years. Oh, and she was a corporate lawyer at the Rose Law Firm where she relied heavily on the counsel of Vince Foster.

She could never have carpet bagged her way to the NY Senate seat had she not been FLOTUS. So, Hillary is nothing, and would have been nothing, without powerful men around or behind her. Her experience is largely derived from having married Bill; and her judgment when she has wielded power has been awful.

Were it not for Bill, we probably would never have heard of her!

about women being independent but many of THEM married wealthy men allowing them to write books and make money from TALKING about feminism. While they told the rest of us to get a job, (that notion of women needing to go out and work to assert their independence rather than stay home, supplied Corporations with cheap labor as many women worked at low wage jobs)

Meantime they were being financed by rich husbands. And what did any of them do for women, other than lecture them? I remember wondering 'where is this women's movement'?

I don't think any of them would have gotten anywhere without those wealthy husbands.

As you said, we probably never would have heard of Hillary without Bill. It's too bad Bill wasnn't on the right side of the issues. He could have been a great Democratic President. Instead he pushed policies that were the antithesis of what a great Dem president would have done.

Mrs. Hillary Clinton is pretty much a Republican, this is quite clear, and if she's your candidate, so are you. OWN your politics. I understand denial is hard to overcome, but I encourage you to look at YOUR politics FOR WHAT they really are regardless of party.
The Democrat party politics have undoubtedly moved way right and now Hillary completes the transition away from everything Democrats have stood for, so much so that she is a Republican (and maybe you too, unless you chose a different candidate).

Tue Mar 8, 2016, 03:55 PM
Mar 2016

The reason that Obama beat Hillary in 2008, was because our party preferred a candidate who represented the base of the Democratic party. Obama was against the Iraq war and that fueled much of Obama's popularity.

Hillary on the other hand, was endorsed two weeks ago, by Robert Kagan, the founder of the neocon movement. Kagan was also one of her foreign-policy advisors. The neocons used to be a stain that was limited to the Republican party. Now, Hillary not only hand picks the neocon founder as one of her adviser--he endorses Hillary for President over any Republican candidate.

This is disturbing to many lifelong Democrats, including myself.

And that long list of $225,000+ speeches she gave to powerful corporate interests, speaks volumes. Money should not be corrupting our democracy in this way. Democrats were always the party that leveraged the little guy while the Republicans were off kow towing to powerful corporations.

That list of speeches is a list of her buyers. Hillary Clinton is owned..

This is the reason that Bernie out-raised Clinton in February. This is expected behavior from the Republicans, and many find it very unwelcome in our own Democratic party.

How can there be any credibility here if the content of one's comments are judged, not for the thoughts they contain, but for the number of comments made previously.

What is the number of posts you require for....?

Ok I get it, shun the non believer or something like that, I didn't realize that's how it works here (or maybe just in your way of thinking).

I suppose if Hillary herself ventured to drop a comment here (proxies don't count), you'd apply the same thinking to anything she posted.

So, again. I'll ask people to own their politics for what they really are (I mean isn't that what Trump is forcing the GOP to do––and look at all that denial. Man, and they thought all that code was working.)

SCantiGOP, I understand, I have empathy; damn, I'd hate it too, if one day I woke up and realized I'd turned into a Republican. I venture to say that only a $250,000 speaking fee, if that's what they offered, might lessen that realization, but I doubt it.

Also, can I ask, is their some initiation I was supposed to submit to, to be here?

She's running for president, and as such, she's campaigning to show us she's electable.

Think of it this way. We're the employers and she's a perspective employee looking for a job at our company. She's trying to sell herself to us and has only given us a partial résumé. When we ask her to give us the full résumé, she says she will when all the other perspective employees waiting in the other room release theirs. Would you hire her?

Anyway, you still consider hiring her but first you have to do a background check and you find that her history is different than what she wrote on her résumé. Her résumé is full of lies and distortions compared to her background history. Would you hire her then?

Hillary supporters would hire her in an instant, facts be damned.

We're not running for president, so the "Why don't you open up your email to everyone in the world?" doesn't stand up to the smell test. And Hillary's refusal to release her Goldman Sachs transcripts stinks to high heaven.

Here's one: what she didn't do. Instead of holding their feet to the fire, as she should have, she simpered and pandered before these greedy vultures at Goldman Sachs. Here's what she said:

Mistakes happen. A few of you decided to take the same risks I cautioned against in the past, and failed. And, as much as I hate saying, “I told you so” the resulting crisis was enough to sour public perception on the financial services sector. It didn't seem to matter that it was a relatively few individuals within the industry who participated in this risky behavior, nor did it seem to matter that much of the ensuing crisis resulted from the financially irresponsible actions of a vast number of citizens.

I'm nauseous.

And this is just for starters.

A lot of these corporations organize these events to reward and try to gain new customers. They hire prestigious and famous people to speak and invite their important customers and those they want to impress to these events. Similar to corporations that have luxury boxes at sporting events for their clients. Also they can reward their high producing employees with invitations. Investing $250,000 for a speaker is really pennies when you consider GS and the other corporations control billions of dollars for the people they invite. And of course they get to write off the $250m.

All this said I am a Sanders supporter for numerous reasons, not the least of which would be the millions of new people he is exciting and bringing into the party which will also help to elect more Democrats locally and to Congress. If Clinton gets the nomination I will enthusiastically support her as I believe she will be more Liberal than Bill and is one of the most qualified candidates for President in my lifetime.

Are you serious? When has she ever made things better for anyone except herself/her family.

She was a corporate lawyer at the Rose Law Firm where her client was Walmart – that champion of women and children.

In the Senate, what did she DO? What legislation or amendments to legislation illustrate her initiative or activism on behalf of women and children. The aye votes for IWR, the Patriot Act I & II and Bush's Bankruptcy Bill sure were a big help to us all

As SOS, she was terrible. Honduras, Libya and Syria are a mess. But HRC, the consummate pro-MIC corporatist, never saw a war she didn't like. And last I checked, war is not good for women, children or men!

Her rise to power and her experience are largely derived from having married Bill; and her judgment when she has wielded power has been awful.

She is also part of the Clinton legacy (the two for one, the 8 years of experience as FLOTUS): DLC, NAFTA, Telecommunications Bill of 1996, Welfare Reform (not), and overturning Glass-Steagall, keeping Alan Greenspan at the Fed, placing the then Mr. Goldman Sucks himself Robert Reuben as head of Treasury and hiring as financial advisor that abominable Wall Streeter Larry Summers (who lost a $billion from Harvard's endowment!). The triumvirate of financial disaster for main street

So, what she has DONE that is positive or constructive? She's in it for herself, she plays sexist gender politics, she lies about her alleged record, she changes her mind with the political winds, she panders, she pads her pockets, and she is power hungry.

Hillary has been FLOTUS, a Senator from the State of New York, and US Secretary of State, along with many other laudable accomplishments. There is literally no one else in the world with these qualifications. Should her speaking fees have been less merely because she is a woman?

From the article at the link:

Professional speaking can be a highly lucrative business. Because it can be, it is also highly competitive. It’s not easy to break into the ranks of the best-paid speakers, and the expectations are very high for those who do.

Where do you fit in? I’ve posted many times about how the speaking business works and how to create a career in it. This post is about fees. How much should you charge?

The answer is complicated because of the interplay between your status – how well you’re known, how much demand there is for your speaking – the budget for the event, and a third aspect you might not have thought about: the perception of quality.
...
Or you could become a politician. A recent article detailed the fees certain politicians charge for speaking. They are substantial. Bill and Hillary are right around $200K. Al Gore is a relatively modest $100K. On the Republican side, George Bush comes in at $110K, and Dick Cheney $75K – $100K. I guess he can’t charge more than his former boss.

Some here seem so interested in trying to find a scandal where none exists that one strongly suspects KKKarl Rove is urging them on.

You seem to have created a new political limbo, and especially for Hillary at that. One can never give a speech nor receive any compensation for it if there is even a remote possibility that one might run for President.

Hillary was actually reluctant to run for President in 2016. It took a very strong grassroots effort, including groups like "Ready for Hillary" - created in 2014 and NOT by Hillary - and women's groups especially to convince her to run again.

But you will continue to believe what you want to believe, whatever the facts actually are. In that, you may have more in common with climate change deniers and creationists than with Democrats.

Jimmy Carter is IMO one of the BEST living examples of a humanitarian and a wholly decent human being. I also supported his Presidency at the time, not in some retro discovery. The radical left did not.

That said, Jimmy was defeated after his first term (four years) in 1980 and was blatantly snubbed by the political establishment for years after that. Shamefully, IMO. As such, he was not in high demand as a speaker. Hillary was FLOTUS for eight years, a NY Senator for eight years, and Secretary of State for four years. Each tenure ended in a high, not a defeat, and all have taken place more recently.

Do you not see a slight difference right there?

In the meantime, speakers' fees have risen exponentially for everyone and those who will draw the most attendees are better paid. http://uspolitics.about.com/od/presidenc1/tp/How-Much-Former-Presidents-Get-Paid-to-Speak.htm

From the link:

Former President Jimmy Carter "seldom accepts speaking fees," The Associated Press wrote in 2002, "and when he does he typically donates the proceeds to his charitable foundation." His fee for speaking about healthcare, government and politics, and retirement and aging was listed at $50,000 at one time, though.

Carter was openly critical of Ronald Reagan at one time, though, for taking $1 million for a single speech. Carter said he'd never take that much, but added quickly: "I've never been offered that much."

"That's not what I want out of life," Carter said in 1989. "We give money. We don't take it."

Neither Clinton has yet been offered $1 million to my knowledge. But there is certainly precedent for that.

And if a simple request for complete information about a speech is denied, then the question arises, "What is Hillary trying to hide?"
As has been pointed out by at least one other individual, it is better to find out NOW what Hillary is trying to hide, rather than to have this information come out say in August.

In 2011, the State Department cleared an enormous arms deal: Led by Boeing, a consortium of American defense contractors would deliver $29 billion worth of advanced fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, despite concerns over the kingdom's troublesome human rights record. In the years before Hillary Clinton became secretary of state, Saudi Arabia had contributed $10 million to the Clinton Foundation, and just two months before the jet deal was finalized, Boeing donated $900,000 to the Clinton Foundation, according to an International Business Times investigation released Tuesday.

The Saudi transaction is just one example of nations and companies that had donated to the Clinton Foundation seeing an increase in arms deals while Hillary Clinton oversaw the State Department. IBT found that between October 2010 and September 2012, State approved $165 billion in commercial arms sales to 20 nations that had donated to the foundation, plus another $151 billion worth of Pentagon-brokered arms deals to 16 of those countries—a 143 percent increase over the same time frame under the Bush Administration. The sales boosted the military power of authoritarian regimes such as Qatar, Algeria, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman, which, like Saudi Arabia, had been criticized by the department for human rights abuses.

money was donated to the Clinton Foundation as a result. Pure, unadulterated graft.

Those arms deals to nations currently purposefully destroying Yemen and its proud heritage - I wish some of her followers would at least consider the HRW reported war-crimes her 'donation pals' are committing. The loss and suffering those people are going through is horrendous.

Such speakers use an agency to find and negotiate their speaking engagements, although they obviously have the last word. Hillary used at least two agencies, tinePublic Inc in Canada and the Harry Walker Agency in the US.

Goldman Sachs paid her $225k in 2013, about $10k less than her average in the list above, and the lowest fee paid in 2013.

It would be foolish to try to bribe someone with a slightly low-ball payment for services. And of course there is a far simpler explanation: She was just earning money by giving speeches. Money for her expenses (sure she lives, but she also works incredibly hard), for the campaign and for her Foundation. End of theory. We’d all love to win the lottery, and she won a decent sized lottery—the speaking-fee lottery. So she cashed in her winning ticket. Wouldn’t we all?

Bernie has already upset her plans!

2016 is 2008 redux. She was simply supposed to be crowned then and now. In 2008, she had the money, she had the name, she was entitled, she was "in it to win it" and so arrogant that she claimed it would be over by Super Tuesday. But when it wasn't and she was losing (support and money), she resorted to the gutter. She praised McCain and derided Obama as someone who only gave pretty speeches. And when the Party urged her to bow out gracefully, she said that she was going to stay in the race through the CA primary because "you never know... remember Bobby Kennedy..." Her insinuation (a veiled wish?) that Obama might be assassinated like RFK was beyond classless and tasteless. It was evil (Google Keith Olbermann on that atrocity). And when she finally, gracelessly bowed out, she did so on condition that the Obama organization and DNC pay off her campaign debt. Some management skills, just like her Wall Street benefactors who f--- things up, then expect others to pay for the disaster they created.

Well here we are in 2016 and Bernie is giving her and her minions a run for their big money. BTW, birds of feather HRC, DWS, Goldman-Sucks

If Clinton was serious about gun control she wouldn't of approved shipments overseas to murderers.
Her pro-war stance means big money to the gun industry. Billions every year of our tax dollars are pumped into murder machines meant only to kill other human beings. These murder machines then get shipped overseas to murderous blood thirsty dictators and who approved those shipments while Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She approved more weapons sales to Dictators than Condi Rice. She is a despicable human being.

http://zfacts.com/2016/02/clinton-speaking-fees/

Over the negative din of politics, it can be hard to hear what’s positive. Hillary Clinton has given $17.6 million of her speaking fees to charity (see below). That’s 26 times as much as she made on her three Goldman Sachs speeches combined, or 50% more than she made on her 51 speeches in 2014 and 2015. Before presenting the details, let me summarize.

1) Her fees were not the least bit unusual given her stature.
2) Over 100 lesser known Americans are also in the $200,000+ category.
3) The Goldman Sachs fees were below her average fee.
4) She gave $17.6 million of her speaking fees to charity.
5) Charging Goldman Sachs less would have just meant more profits for them and less for charity.

There is simply no evidence, or logic, supporting the idea that she would sell out her whole career and deceive her huge base of supporters with a fake proposal to rein in Wall Street (a proposal that Elizabeth Warren supports). That she would do all this in return for three below-average fees from Goldman Sachs is beyond absurd.

Now take a quick look at a Talk at Golmand Sachs (GS), or at civil-rights-leader John Lewis talking with the CEO of GS, or the CEO of the NAACP or LGBT Professionals speaking at GS. Obviously GS hopes for good publicity and the speakers hope to influence GS. If you’re looking for conspiracies, this is a very silly place to look for them.

Many seem to think the highest possible legitimate speaking fee couldn’t be over $10,000, and anything higher must be a bribe. But looking at the list below, it’s obvious no one is bribing Charlie Rose, Lady Gaga or Larry the Cable Guy, or any of the other 120 people who get paid $200,000 or more per speech.

$50,000 Charlie Rose TV talk show host
$80,000 Malcolm Gladwell Author: Blink, and Outliers
$100,000+ Bill Maher Left commentator MSNBC
$150,000 Condilezza Rice Sect. of State, W. Bush
$200,000+ Jerry Seinfeld Comedian, actor, writer
$200,000+ Hillary Clinton Sect. of State, Obama
$200,000+ Lady Gaga Singer & empowerment speaker
$200,000+ Larry The Cable Guy Radio personality, comedian
$400,000 Ben Bernake Ex-Fed chairman, Bush, Obama

Some will skim this page, see it supports Hillary, and make unsupported accusations. But it is unfair to Hillary to let such false claims go unchallenged, and it is tearing the Democrats apart.

Salon’s Ultimate Moralistic Nonsense
Salon ran an op-ed headlined “Hillary Clinton’s artful smear.” The op-ed, to its credit, never suggests any smear, artful or not, by Hillary. I suppose it’s now politically correct at Salon (which writes the headlines) to bash Clinton.

Also to the op-ed’s credit, it quotes Clinton: “You will not find that I ever changed a view or a vote because of any donation I ever received,” and notes, “and there is no evidence to the contrary.” Instead, this is the op-eds’ point:

Salon: It was not nice of Hillary to take that $675,000 from Goldman Sachs, because that is “lost savings and lost homes for bilked investors.”
Really? If she’d spoken for free, GS would have donated that money to the investors they bilked? Does Salon think GS has turned into a sort of Big-Bucks Salvation Army?
follow on: faceBook | Twitter (new)

OK, time for Econ 1. Corporations are for profit. Give one $100, and their profit goes up by $100. They do two things with profits. Pay them to shareholders, and use them to make more profits. That’s call cap-it-al-ism. If Hillary charges less, their shareholders get richer.

The “give it back” crowd is being idiotic. If those with money to burn pay you too much and you give it back, they just burn it for something else. The best you can do is take as much money as possible from Goldman Sachs—50 times more if you can get it—and spend that money on something better than Goldman Sachs’ shareholders would. Duh.

Clinton spends the money three ways: for her own expenses (which are high partly because she’s running for office), on her election campaign ($468,037), and on the Clinton Foundation, 89% of whose funding goes to charity (an excellent track record).

According to the Washington Post, Bill Clinton has contributed speaking fees to their foundation 73 times and Hillary Clinton 15 times. Hillary’s contributions include one address to Goldman Sachs and another to JP Morgan Chase. In total, Hillary donated something over $17.6 million. Contrary to what you may have heard, their foundation is highly efficient with only 11% overhead, and has provided $2,000 million dollars to the poor and needy.

Their foundation projects include training African farmers to get access to seeds, equipment and markets for their crops, reforestation projects in Africa and the Caribbean, renewable energy projects in island nations, and work to lower the cost of HIV/AIDS medicine and scale up pediatric AIDS treatment. And here’s a picture from Oakland (next door to me) from the Clinton Foundation’s “Too Small to Fail” project.

I guess I'll take her word for it that we “will not find that I ever changed a view or a vote because of any donation I ever received.” Frankly, I'd rather not find out.

And I don't care one bit if some of the money is donated to their mega foundation. Such "charities" are a symptom of a sick system. They take money from entities that are destroying the world, providing tax breaks and insider deals to their benefactors, while repairing a small portion of the damage done by working on some "popular" causes.

I am a Hillary supporter, not "fan". She's not Phish, she's a politician.

I don't think she's perfect. I understand she has vulnerabilities and I freely admit she makes gaffes. But I still support her. Not blindly. In fact, I do so with my eyes wide open. There are frankly very few (ok, one) politicians with whom I am in total or near agreement.

I support both of our candidates and will proudly vote for the nominee in November. But I am not a "fan" of either.

I am a fan of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. And the Violent Femmes (who have a new album out, by the way!)

And these speeches, like so much of what either does or says, are being totally blown out of ridiculous proportion.

The growing wealth gap is stealing resources we need to help those that have lost their jobs, homes, retirements, and education opportunities, do to the wealthy vultures. The greater Goldman-Sachs profits are, the more children go to bed hungry. Why would Democrats support Goldman-Sachs unless they worship the wealthy.

During that period of time she was NOT a politician. She was just a citizen, no matter how much you want to think differently.

She left her post as SoS on 2/1/2013 and declared her candidacy for President on 4/12/2015. ALL of those speaking fees were between those dates.

Hillary has been working to get back in the White House since she left it. Senator was a stepping stone. Then she ran for prez, and lost. SoS was a holding station and another stepping stone. She is not running again; she was always running.

It is obvious, painfully so. And obvious to Goldman Sachs et al as well. Hillarians always seem to miss it though.

Like I said, you said it in nicer words, but you just said she's power hungry.

Bernie started off as mayor, became a Congressperson and is now a Senator. Isn't that stepping stoning his way to the top? Isn't that power hungry? I hate to break it to you, but anyone that thinks they can be President of the United States has a thirst for power. Of course, your candidate is different ... but then again, everyone believes their candidate is "different".

She could be running for President to prove she's just as good/competent/consequential as Bill. She could be running for President to prove something about women. She could be running for President because she wants to do Great Things for People. She could be running for President because she's power hungry. She could even be running for President because it makes her happy to live in the White House and ride on Air Force One (seems to have been Dimson's principal motivation but who knows).

I said she has been running for years; what her motivation is I have no idea. Neither do you. And I find it astonishing that you don't see the difference between starting off as mayor of a relatively small town in a backwater state as opposed to STARTING OUT running to be one of 100 Senators in a country of 300,000,000 people, and from New York State no less. Yeah, totally the same.

Thanks for playing.

Seriously, the simple fact that she made $21 million giving speeches in just three years tells me everything I need to know.

They didn't pay her that kind of money because of her oratorical skills, her charismatic personality or her insight into current events. She has none of the first two and very little of the third. No, they invite her and pay her because she's famous for being famous, and because she has tailored her message (and probably faked her accent) to fit the venue.

We all know what's in those speeches. Those people hope they are buying influence. And she has signaled that she is selling what they pay for.

Its legalized bribery and the Clintons have raised it to an art form.

If she becomes president, she can make money in a multi-tude of ways. Won't need their pipeline money.

...to fill the Clinton coffers. She and Bill will no longer need the "auspices" of the Clinton Foundation to solicit "donations." They'll be able to print bank name, routing number and account number right on the White House stationary.

$400,000 from the Jewish United Fund??? Israel?

We can't afford Hillary. Will she charge for every speech she gives as president?

What then is the specific rate that should be charged for speaking engagements, and from what objective measure is that number based?

First lady of Arkansas for 10 years
First lady of the United States for 8 years
Senator of New York for 7 years
Secretary of State for 4 years

I would think year speaking fees would be at upper end of the spectrum.

While this list scrolls slowly in the background, show Bernie giving a speech about money in politics. Not sure whether it'd be better to use audio or video of him - I'll let his PR team decide.

and her followers are in no way any different than those who supported Bush in 2000 and 2004. They agree on just about everything. There's no hope for the Party Establishment. If Bernie doesn't come through with a win, it will go down in our (very short future) history as one of the most corrupt organizations in American politics.

233. access!
Tue Mar 8, 2016, 07:58 PM
Mar 2016

To those that aren't ashamed by this, are okay with it. Well, the reality is those with the money to line the politicians pockets will get more access than those without that money. That's just black and white, it's the truth. Politicians that take this money will be, have to be, influenced by it, that is just the reality. Clinton unfortunately is bought and paid for, she is, it's okay, just own it, she's a product of the system, she is a centrist right corporate democrat. She is not a "progressive." I believe the moral "progressive" stance on this issue, is not to take this money to define your political stance. That's the moral thing to do, the right thing to do. I guess the same people that are okay with this are also okay with obfuscated truth, well, I'm burnt out as hell over obfuscated truth. So be okay, with your candidate for who she is, the facts are the facts, if you are okay with this, fine, go vote for her, more power to you. But the reality of her being a progressive will never be actual reality. Just like her at the debate knowingly undercut Sanders position on the auto bailout. What's the truth and what you are ok with, well that's your call right? But don't say these speeches along with her obfuscation on facts, that everyone else don't see these things for what they are. Anyways, thanks OP great post.

Americans want to get rid of. Those still swimming in the gravy don't want it to stop, so the breaks have to be applied externally, by the people. These people will not stop lying, taking bribes, or bite the hands that feed them. Thinking otherwise is extremely naive to be kind.

post deleted. I'm not going to guess things.

Watermark disturbs me because I know a bit what it is. I turned down a job for there because I didn't want to work for the super rich even on a team keeping their networks up in my area - which is what my position was to be. They cater to keeping the super rich happy and invisible. They're supposed to be able to travel around like a watermark so you don't know they're there. I was told what I was being hired for and declined and got a weird response for declining. I mean they didn't do anything to me, they just acted like I was some enemy or something. I'm too liberal democrat to want to work for companies directly catering the super rich.

Sad how she and her supporters and axe polishers have resorted to Atwater tactics and Rovian logic to win a nomination.

But she is for the people! Orwell's Doublespeak from 1984 would be proud.

I will vote for her in the general if she wins the primary, with some confidence that she is very competent and trusted by the business community. Recalling the idiots running things during the bush years, that's not a bad thing.
