South Florida Jewish voters key in Obama-Romney contest

By Anthony Man, Sun Sentinel

6:01 p.m. EDT, October 15, 2012
BOCA RATON—

– Every vote counts, but David Love's is one of the most sought after of the 2012 presidential campaign.

He's a Jewish retiree, originally from New York, who lives in one of South Florida's sprawling, vote-rich condominium communities, Century Village west of Boca Raton. He's voted almost exclusively Democratic for the last three decades – but hasn't yet made up his mind in this year's contest between President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney.

"My inclination would be to vote Democratic, but I have not been happy with the economic situation and the attitude of the administration toward Israel," he said. "[Voting Democratic] would be what I normally would do. However, those two categories have sort of pulled me back. That's why, I guess, we call ourselves fence sitters."

Love, 72, said he doesn't expect to decide until just before Election Day.

Floridians - how's the ballot "looking" this election? Better be sure we don't end up with 20,000 votes for Gary Johnson in Palm Beach.

The US is giving much money to Israel and is supportive of Israeli people maybe not so much of it's right wing Bebe.

No one can help the global economy it has been very unstable - Greece etc. Obama has done very well to keep us afloat in these bad times. It could have been much worse and will be if Romney gets in.

Which, while an ugly sentiment, would at least reflect our actual policies.

I still think there's a 50/50 shot they'll do something to throw our election.

We need to cut both loose. With climate change heating up he better hope his "vote-rich condominium " community doesn't get hit by a disaster. With Romney in office there won't be a FEMA. His community can ask Israel to help them.

I have been hearing their bickering crap since I was in the cradle. It is like a humongous family feud that will never end.

Well the Middle East isn't tired of the Middle East, and neither is the world economy...

"It is like a humongous family feud that will never end."

I'd imagine the British and the French had similar thoughts in the 14th century...
