2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumStacking the deck for tonight's debate
We know where the DNC stands in this race. They will do anything they can to put their thumb on the scale, or to stand on it if needed.
The debate is hosted by Univision. Univision is owned by the largest campaign contributor to Bill and Hillary Clinton over their political careers.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/clinton-money/
<The couples biggest individual political benefactors are Univision chairman Haim Saban and his wife, Cheryl, who have made 39 contributions totaling $2.4 million to support the Clintons races since 1992. The Sabans have also donated at least $10 million to the foundation.>
One of the moderators of tonight's debate is Jorge Ramos. His daughter works for Hillary Clinton's campaign.

<As journalists the most important thing we have is our credibility and integrity. We maintain that, in part, through transparency with our audience, our colleagues and our critics. That is why I am disclosing that my daughter, Paola, has accepted a position working with Hillary Clintons presidential campaign.>
This garbage is really getting old.

is NOT a good thing IMO.
That brought us Rush Limbaugh and Clear Channel, canned vanilla music with no local reporting.

(2,983 posts)I suspect he didn't really care. His message will continue to resonate with the masses because he tells the truth and is fighting for things that almost all of us want. Sanders has a great deal of courage, that kind of shit is never going to stop him.

(33 posts)I am so grateful I have found democratic underground. Unfortunately, I can believe all this garbage that we dig up. We no longer live in a democracy. Everything is controlled by money and power. And, in the democratic party I question why we even have primaries if the SUPER delegates can do whatever they want. As a young adult my father would try to tell me this was the way of the world, but my starry-eyed youth refused to believe. I do now, but glad my Dad is no longer here to have to watch what is going on.

(3,017 posts)I was impressed that Jorge Ramos made a point of disclosing that his daughter works for Hillary Clinton's campaign at the beginning of the questioning. It was a higher standard of disclosure than I usually see in political discussions on the cable networks.

(3,825 posts)It's all a big conspiracy to keep your guy down. Do you realize how really childish this sounds. Let the candidates either stand or fall on their own. Truth is truth whether you like what side it falls on.

Forgive my metaphor but it's at a colon-blow point.
This race has been so stacked against Bernie and I'm mad as hell about it.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

(13,776 posts)I admit, if they were on Bernie's side I'd be happy that all that money and influence were going his way. But it would still be wrong for the broadcast not to acknowledge all of that straight up front.
