but I think the word "hate" should be used more selectively...Trump's statements are more polarizing than hateful.

I don't disagree with its use here.

Hate, in my opinion, tends to be based in fear. Trump feeds the fear/hate of "other" in his supporters.

Has everyone noticed how Drumpf's Campaign is coming off the rails since Friday. And this Dufus is only amping up his Stupid and people are waking up to Schick. All the Media has their panties in a wad and their so called Reality Star is flaming them out.

the Chicago Tribune and in online news sites, here on DailyKos, everywhere. There's a wealth of bad info.

I have no doubts from all the dozens and dozens of photos I've viewed that this was primarily formed by the students in a grassroots way - as most of the people there are obviously students. I also saw at least five different young people with black lives matters shirts. But there were some pre-printed signs there too.

The article in the Chicago says various student groups and Rep Rep. Luis Gutierrez called for the protests.

A student group called Stop Trump Chicago has had an organizing group up for weeks. They're on Facebook: www.facebook.com/stoptrumpchicago

University staff and students had already protested and turned in 40K signatures for Trump to not be allowed to use the arena at University of Illinois, and they made it clear to University and campus police ahead of time that they were going to protest.

I dont' think the students intended to be violent from the get-go, not looked at their petition or that other FB group -- and they did invest in getting tickets for the rally. I think it may have surprised everyone how many students got it, even themselves.

________
But the thing that caught my attention was all the black and yellow signs from Americans United for Change.org all over the place, in at least 50% of the photos outside, a few inside.

Americans United for Change - a pro-labor, pro-Dem organizing group. But their President is Brad Woodhouse.

BRAD WOODHOUSE:

- President of Americans United for Change
- he used to be the communications director of the DNC
- He's also currently the President of American Bridge 21st Century - which was formed by David Brock, and it's the group he uses for dirty tricks.

These are the black/yellow signs:
