Interesting afternoon at the car repair shop...

I had to bring my car in for service today in Keene, NH. They said I had about a 2 hour wait so I hit the waiting room with my knitting. There was a large screen TV with FOX News on. Since I was the only person there, I changed the channel to MSNBC. 4 more people arrived...2 women (one with her knitting) and 2 fairly young men. All the news on MSNBC was crazy Santorum and his religious and birth control bullshit. I watched the faces of these 4 people...their heads snapped up, their eyes got wider, and they listened. One of the guys and both of the women began shaking their heads. At one point, one of them looked over at me with a look of incredulity on their face and I just laughed. I suspect these folks don't watch the news often. They got a good dose of Santorum today! Worth the wait.

These may have been people who simply don't watch the news, or they may normally watch Faux. Changing the channel away from Faux in public places is a great idea.

The next time I visit a business with that channel set on their tv for customers, I'm going to ask one of the employees if there's a reason behind it. I wonder if these businesses are being offered some sweet deal by Murdoch, Inc., because too many businesses are doing it. I know grocery stores are paid by food distributors to give their products a more prominent display than other brands on grocery shelves.

Oh I get it, you came here to mock "liberal" media. Listen, there is no "liberal media", no matter how often your idols drum that phrase into your head off the radio.
