2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI don't hate Hillary, I pity her.
Well, this sums it up perfectly but honestly from MY POV, I am beginning to actually not stand her and her dishonesty and lies. To me, Hillary exemplifies exactly why people hate politicians.
There is a LOT more at the link.

It isn't hard but I know that many refuse to accept that reality.

(3,795 posts)And, should she become President I won't have any hope that our country will change for the better.
Since I do trust Bernie immensely, and I do believe he would do WHAT HE CAN to change the system (and the Democratic Party), it makes this Primary deeply personal and very emotional for me. The stakes in the Primary are much, much higher for me than the stakes in the General for a number of issues that are extremely important to me.

Her lack of transparency of the bank speech transcripts is proof that she is well aware of the destruction she is supporting and/or enabling.

(115,899 posts)of establishment politics that she doesn't even see what's wrong with what she does. It's kind of like those TV ads for air freshener where they talk about being "nose blind" - you can no longer smell something stinky if you're living in the stink all the time. Taking huge sums of money from corporations for speeches isn't bribery or corruption; it's just what's done all the time. Everybody does it. Vague promises of incremental improvements is all politicians offer because they don't want to stick their necks out by working for big changes, and thereby risk offending big donors. Same, old, same old is the way the establishment works. It's as corrupt as hell; does nothing for the rest of us; stinks to high heaven, but Hillary, like the others, can't smell it because she's been living in it.

I agree. She seems to have assimilated into something but what is still unclear. Hillary seems to take the stance of anything at any given time but not doesn't believe in much of what she says. When most of America sees your candidate as completely dishonest, there's a problem.
The constant capitulation, from her comments on abortion, to being open to the idea of raising the SS age, to calling for migrant children to be sent home is downright scary.
Note to jury--the photo posted is simply an illustration in response to comments I was responding to.

(9,385 posts)She disgusts me. Let me just say, when you pity someone like her you will soon enough find your neck under their boot. When that kind of person is on the ropes, it's a great idea to keep them there.
I can spot arrogant entitled bullies a mile away, and she's one. She has done some nasty stuff, and it wasn't any one-off. That image she rolls out is a hollow act.
What sums it up for me is her heart-warming little friendship with Kissinger. Birds of a feather and all that.

(6,719 posts)Years ago, before she left State, I wrote to her and asked her not to run for president but to use her talents and experience to help people in so many ways. Well! She is doing as she wishes. And she is doing it exactly as she wishes. She is helping herself. No pity. Win or not she is rich and will have a good life. The rest of us, as usual, get to live with the results.
