I finally got around to watching one of those Hillary-hate videos.

You know, the one with "13 minutes of Hillary lying." And it's truly remarkable. I can't think of any human on earth who could spend as much time in front of a camera, and at the end of the day come out with such a miniscule set of insignificant mistaken phrases on tape. In fact, there are a total of zero "lies" in the whole 13 minutes. There's one instance of mistaken recollection of the distant past, and a couple issues where her views have shifted over the course of many years, but the only actual dishonesty here is on the part of the person who cut the video so misleadingly.

Given that this is the worst stuff that Hillary-haters can come up with, the reality is that she is one of the more remarkably honest and consistent people in the political arena.

Let's go through it.

1) Gay Marriage. Like most progressives, including Bernie, her views evolved on this issue.

2) Moderate v progressive. A silly game of terminology -- these are broad categories, and there is plenty of intersection.

3) Emails and Benghazi. LOL. Whoever makes these hate videos is a big fan of Trey Gowdy.

4) "Blaming homeowners" on Wall Street. Probably the most embarrasingly misleading cut in the whole video. Hillary says "there's plenty of blame to go around" for the financial crisis, and then the video skips the parts where she talks about all the misdeeds on the part of banks and mortgage brokers, and cuts to her saying "homebuyers who paid extra fees to avoid documenting their income should have known better."

BTW, if you are buying a home, and you are paying extra money to avoid documenting your income on a loan application, then, yes, you should know better. Don't do that. It's dumb.

5) Wall Street Contributions. The video goes through the fact that employees of some of the largest companies in her home state donated money to the her campaign. The only dishonesty here is on the part of the video-maker who insinuates that it is corporate money and not individual employees donating the money.

6) Universal Healthcare. She's pro-universal care, but not single payer. The only thing resembling a lie here is that whoever made the video is (either out of stupidity or dishonesty) trying to imply that "universal healthcare" and "single payer" are synonymous.

7) Sniper fire. For two whole minutes! 8 years ago she misremembered an event from a decade earlier, and the rubes who made this video devoted a whole two minutes to it!

8) NAFTA. Like Bernie Bromeister Robert Reich, her moderately pro-NAFTA views in the 90s have changed in the face of evidence that, as she put it, NAFTA didn't deliver on its promises.

And that's it! 20 years in front of the camera, and this is all they've got! No wonder she won the primaries in such a dominant fashion!

Here's the video, in case you're curious.

I'm not a "Hillary Hater", I just think she's unfit to hold public office.

the fact that her haters have so very few instances on camera where she misremembered an event indicates that she's one of the most honest people in the political arena.

But I get it: you dislike her personally so much that a couple mistaken phrases over 20 years or so is enough for you to smear her.

Just as I didn't know Kissinger, McNamara, or Kagan who admire her.

I don't "hate" or "dislike" corrupt politicians, I just don't think they should hold public office.

accusations from Hillary supporters are starting to sound very warped.

It's one thing to analyze and disagree, and I am fine with that, but all these accusations of "hate" for anything about Hillary that is not positve is something else entirely.

What I see is scrutiny of the candidates and criticism. From both sides.

Still no "hate".

I think the reason they made it 13 minutes long is so nobody would actually watch it and see how absurd the whole thing is.
