Lumping in Sanders with white privilege implies a belief that Jews are not an oppressed minority.

Sanders has been described as the "white male candidate" and some have gone as far as to invoke white supremacy. While Sanders has never made much of an issue of his Jewish roots during the campaign, they are not a secret either. This begs the question: Do Clinton supporters in general believe that discrimination of Jewish people is no longer an issue in the US?

but even after the first PPR that clearly said so, his critics have affected great offense that anyone would even suggest such a thing. But the parade of vile anti Jewish verbiage has continued. It has not been opposed and it seems to be nurtured by DU itself.

I'm not very comfortable on DU these days, with the Reagans as heroes and antisemitic verbiage being treated as some cute personal quirk.

Who are overwhelmingly white and and a majority of whom are not poor. Class is a defining characteristic of white privilege. I'm a Bernie supporter, myself. I fit right in with that demographic. I am, however, not male. I will say that it distresses me that too many of my fellow supporters react to this with defense rather than introspection. It's a shame and only reinforces the impression that the movement is about white privilege. Your OP will do no one any favors.

He doesn't make it an issue and so I don't think the voters would have, either. But he has numerous other problems that prevent him from being the front-runner: a lack of coalition-building, being a Democratic Party-come lately, his over-reliance on income inequality (an important issue but not the only one.)

Yes we are a minority, yes pockets of discrimination still exist. But in America of 2016 we are hardly "oppressed."

I was taught about my white privilege way back in the early 1960s, when the rabbi of our congregation returned from Selma (he was one of the clergy selected to surround Dr. King during the march). He spoke to us kids about racism, and told us that no matter what kinds of discrimination we still faced as Jews (there was still some redlining of housing and job discrimination in our city), that we were still privileged because our faces were white. He asked us to imagine what it was like to have a black face, where people judged you before they even began to know who you were. I've never forgotten that little talk.

If I had to measure the discrimination I've felt during my life, I'd definitely say that being a woman has had far more repercussions than being a Jew ... by a long shot.

In that you have to have a certain amount of privilege to say you won't vote for whoever the Demcratic candidate is, because women and people of color are at greater risk of bad Supreme Court nominees. But that would be true for supporters of either candidate who would refuse to vote for the other one in the general election.
