(55 posts)I want to see O at 50 by Monday. Hopefully.
Is he still winning Rasmussen 'battleground states' poll?
Mutiny In Heaven
(550 posts)Rasmussen is a much more reputable polling firm than Gallup in the week or so prior to an election. If it's level now, a good performance by President Obama in the final debate will probably have him two or three points up over the final few days.

(14,881 posts)So immediately after the debate would have 2/3s from before the debate.
This poll has 2/3s after the debate. Tomorrow will have all 3 days after the debate.

(19,458 posts).. who usually lean right. Also, without comment, it's hard to even know if this is "likely voters" which is also a model that favors conservatives.

(340 posts)and I think the previous 3-4 days had Romney up 2 points as well. So this is GOOD.

(25,415 posts)were not impressed with Romney either. They don't think Romney would be a better President then Obama. That is not very good for Romney. He has not made the case with those people disappointed in Obama that he would be the better alternative. Kerry was better on that per Rasmussen and Kerry lost the election in 2004 by two states.

(4,734 posts)If Romney has been leading in their poll in all the days pre-debate and if, as they claim, he's leading the two days post-debate, then how is Obama moving up?
Maybe the night of the debate had Obama surging for them? But why wouldn't that have shown up in the last two days? Ridiculous.

(8,064 posts)since those two republican rolling polls seem to be working in tandem.
prove me wrong, gallup. show us that you are a real, independent polling operation
and not working for romney. YOU are the outlier.

(36,392 posts)this president is actually even with a lying, screaming, sociopath.
This country is fucked unless we do something about the media

(55 posts)So what's Gallup showing today? Romney +30?
unc70
(6,117 posts)How does that make sense, that Romney had the advantage the two days after the debate, but somehow the poll went from Romney +2 to tied in one day?
bigdarryl
(13,190 posts)polling more PARTISAN republicans in his polling any sane person who watched that debate can not come away saying Romney won
FBaggins
(26,756 posts)There's no question that the president won the debate.
Unfortunately, that doesn't mean that he will gain in the polls.
FBaggins
(26,756 posts)Implying that this number will move back to a small Romney advantage tomorrow if today's results mirror the last two days.
somehow the poll went from Romney +2 to tied in one day?
Which means that last night's figure was better for the president than the polling done on Tuesday.
It's also important to note that the move may be nowhere near 2%. it might have been 48.6%R-47.4%O yesterday to 48.4%R-47.6%O today.

(25,415 posts)Just keep that in mind.

(340 posts)What does the swing state polling look like for Rasmussen? Obama had been ahead there previously by 1 I think.

(1,127 posts)still alot of work to do.
Johnny2X2X
(19,095 posts)A third of the poll was still pre debate so this could move a point or 2 over the weekend, Obama should be up 1 or 2 by Monday. Gallup should start to move too and Obama will be clearly ahead on RCP by Monday.
I've been saying all week, patience is needed. Romney supporters went through the same thing after the 1st debate, the polls didn;t move for a few days and the bump wasn;t fully realized until over a week. Compound this with another debate Monday and the pitcture for election day will be much clearer by this time next week.
unc70
(6,117 posts)Not sure how that will play out.
Interesting that RCP still has older Rasmussen where Romney leading.
JiminyJominy
(340 posts)Debate 2 Obama to show up rather than Debate 1 Obama.
TroyD
(4,551 posts)And it probably got the folks at Free Republic upset this morning since Rasmussen is their Polling God.
This means Romney dropped in Rasmussen, and Obama went up.
This is more evidence that the Gallup numbers are off, so it will be interesting to see what numbers THEY post in 1 hour.
