Utah’s Largest Paper Endorses Obama, Blasts ‘Too Many Mitts’

The Salt Lake Tribune, the largest newspaper in Utah, on Friday endorsed President Obama for re-election rather than the first Mormon presidential nominee, Mitt Romney.

In an editorial entitled "Too Many Mitts," the paper castigated Romney for his frequent reinventions and changes of position:

From his embrace of the party’s radical right wing, to subsequent portrayals of himself as a moderate champion of the middle class, Romney has raised the most frequently asked question of the campaign: "Who is this guy, really, and what in the world does he truly believe?"

The evidence suggests no clear answer, or at least one that would survive Romney’s next speech or sound bite. Politicians routinely tailor their words to suit an audience. Romney, though, is shameless, lavishing vastly diverse audiences with words, any words, they would trade their votes to hear.

The Tribune endorsed Obama in 2008 and George W. Bush in 2004.

as governor of Massachusetts shows the REAL Mitt: He walked in to the Olympics after the scandal with nearly unlimited funding and personnel as a result of pledges from the state and federal governments to do whatever it took to make the games a resounding success, and counter the effects of said scandal. He then proceeded to unethically line his own pockets with a minimum of $4M through awarding contracts to businesses he owned shares of.
As far as Massachusetts? 800 vetoes, 700 overridden. Bipartisan? Riiiight!
