Related: About this forumQuestion about Zogby
Although I thought I was fairly politically aware, the reason that Zogby has fallen from grace seems to have alluded me (or I've forgotten). I know Rasmussen, Gravis, and now Gallup have questionable polling, but when did Zogby go into the tanker?
Also, can you provide other polling outfits that you know to be questionable in comments below?

In other words he took a late poll in a race that was way off. I can't remember which election it was.

But I can tell you that Zogby's polling was really bad in 2008. To be clear, it wasn't biased. It was just bad. And to be honest I'm not sure which is worse. Because at least if you are bad with a bias, you can still have a following. But if you are just giving bad results over and over again, nobody will like you.
Zogby's 2008 primary polls were the worst. The general election wasn't much better.
I think that's why the only firm that will hire them for 2012 is Newsmax. It is my belief (I could be wrong) that Newsmax probably doesn't have the operation budget of other companies. And because Zogby is considered so inaccurate they now come cheap, they got hired.
I am loving Zogby's results out of Florida. But like Gallup. They are outside of the mean. And given Zogby's track record I would question it. If you want to "hang your hat" on a Florida number, use today's Survey USA poll. They have a good reputation. In fact they have actually been a little unkind to Obama in the past. Their number today is a real positive sign in the sunshine state.
Prior to 2008, Zobgy was considered a decent pollster. When I first got into politics they were one of the gold standard pollsters. My, times have changed.
They are however worthy enough to be included in the RCP averages, especially if Gravis is going to be there.
