It's so profoundly upsetting the way that American democracy is becoming a literal sham.

For all the GOP's flagwaving, what do they think the founding fathers would feel about the way they actively discourage voting?

I'll be poll watching and was wondering if there were any @'s to send messages to or #'s to use to report results/problems.

Are there any central, state, or county democratic twitter accounts to follow in particular?

ahead of me to have as witnesses in case I decide to bring legal charges for wrongdoing. They may take my phone and purse so I have a key and paper taped under and next to my skin. Don't laugh, it is that serious. The RW will do anything to take away your vote especially if they see you getting out of an older car, think that you may be receiving SS benefits, etc.

to be targeted for fraud. Do these groups use twitter and will then know about this? Do they know who to contact when there are clear violations against them? Part of GOTV should include providing details of how to counter any suppression or let the appropriate people know about it.

DEMOCRATS!! PLEASE REVIEW YOUR CHOICES ON YOUR BALLOT

We have just had word from a neighboring county about “Ivotronic” voting machine failures that might affect Beaufort County machines!

Yesterday, an in-person absentee voter in Berkeley County tried to vote a “straight” Democratic ticket and found that, upon reviewing his choices, the machine had recorded his vote for President as being for the Libertarian party! He voted again and again, with the same results. He summoned a poll manager who had the same results. The machine was shut down and he voted at another machine—this time his vote was correctly recorded for President Obama and the Democratic Party.

The take-away: WHEN YOU ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHECK YOUR VOTING CHOICES AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR BALLOT (AND BEFORE YOU PRESS THE GREEN “VOTE” BUTTON), CHECK YOUR CHOICES CAREFULLY!! IF THEY DO NOT REFLECT YOUR CHOICES, START AGAIN—AND THEN CALL A POLL MANAGER IF YOUR CHOICES AREN’T CORRECTLY RECORDED!!!

Remember, we urge everyone to vote Straight Democratic so that you will include both President Obama and Democratic Congressional Candidate Bobbie Rose.

The two referenda and one state constitutional amendment were reviewed at the BCDP Executive Meeting and the votes were reported on these issues:

-The constitutional amendment, placing the governor and lieutenant governor on the same ticket, was endorsed by the Beaufort County Executive Committee.

-The county referendum regarding the potential selection of the county treasurer and auditor were recommended to be voted against—leave the voters in control.

-Finally, the referendum about issuing bonds for the Critical Lands program was discussed. At the meeting there were two sides to this issue and no final determination was made.

“Fired up and ready to go!”

Sincerely,

Blaine Lotz, Chair

Beaufort County Democratic Party
