in the polls, people are reminded of the contrast between the bad old days and this admin's effective subtlety.

Edit: Thinking to Monday, we may also have to thank Issa for overreaching, the GOP way. That's some material for the President.

Rethugs could have said that...

On the other hand, it can also mean Obama is more effective in foreign affairs. Especially if this is likely to be lauded by EU and other Western democracies.

It was Iran who overplayed the hostage crisis that damaged Carter's presidency. But there was some decency in US politics as even Reagan admin knew it better to let Carter be the figurehead receive the released hostages.

We can't change administrations in the midst of this breakthrough! Romney would fail miserably if he were to "talk" and would probably wind up going to war!

starting to lose faith in the American People. how on earth could they even be weighing Obama V Romney. its a no brainer.

I'm especially disappointed in the people of states like Ohio. One man single handidly put it all on the line to save your state while the other didn't care.

i hope this Iran news makes a difference.

Iranian officials have insisted that the talks wait until after the presidential election, a senior administration official said, telling their American counterparts that they want to know with whom they would be negotiating.

I wonder what Romney will say if he is asked if he will negotiate, should he win.

And looked as reckless as a pair of goons hoping for Bush carry-overs to return to spearhead foreign policy might.

People forget, but when there're a huge scars left behind, it's never far from the surface. Especially with the topic of Monday's debate.

I'm ecstatic, but I wonder if the politics might not cut both ways. For the Dems, the strategy employed has finally got Iran to nuclear talks. But, can't the Repubs argue that the prospects of dealing with a Romney administration was the principal reason? Or, they could merely say, "here we go again", more stalling by the Iranian government. I think Independents will welcome the news with open arms. In any case, I think it's great news!!!

The GOP look like a mess with Romney's debate flap & Issa's breach. For Obama to press home is that we've now had a CIA report backing up Susan Rice, we've had Iran agree to discuss - for the first time in history - their nuclear program, bin Laden is dead, Iraq is over - despite GOP flailing - and Afghanistan is winding down, again, despite the GOP wanting more dead soldiers and an indefinite controlling presence. The wars, the dead Americans and the contribution these awful situations made to the economic crisis.

If there's one thing people aren't keen to turn back to, it's Bush foreign policy.

Let's face it. The ONLY issue Romney and Lyan have is the economy, and even that has faded somewhat with unemployment coming down. Anything that distracts from that core issues as far as the media conversation is concerned is a net win for Obama.
