Yeah, we totally could have won, we just decided a better strategy was to let Hillary win instead...

We all know by now that there are regular Bernie Sanders supporters who happen to like his views on the issues, and then there is the Bernie Sanders Cult those who worship him in such religious fashion that they have no interest in facts or issues or even the politics involved. Today may have been the day the Bernie Cult finally became a national laughing stock. Not one but two of his top people became trending topics on Twitter today, for entirely different reasons, each because they were being made fun of for saying insanely disturbing things.
Around mid-day, top Bernie Sanders campaign strategist Tad Devine saw his name appear in lights on Twitter when he claimed that Bernie has only lost the majority of states because he wasnt trying to compete in them. Not only was that a factually false statement based on how much money he spent trying to win Arizona and South Carolina, only to lose them in blowouts, it had a sore-loser vibe written all over it. Suddenly Tad Devine was in the trending topics column on Twitter, as one user after another made fun of him for what they alternately referred to as his dishonest or delusional thinking.
It confirmed what must be the worst fears for Bernies reasonable supporters: he was never trying to win the nomination, and his entire campaign strategy has been a calculated attempt at creating a cult figure. Even as the Bernie Cult members seemed to be lapping up Devines every incoherent word, the regular Bernie voters must have been wondering just what the hell kind of campaign Devine has been running under their noses.
Then one of Bernies most famous surrogates, Susan Sarandon, became a trending topic for revealing the lunacy of how the cult thinks. She went on national television and tried to explain why she could never vote for Hillary Clinton if Bernie failed to get the nomination. But while doing so, she slipped up and admitted that shed rather see Donald Trump become President than Hillary. Sure enough, Susan Sarandon appeared on Twitters trending topics as users began asking if she was suffering a breakdown.
In other words Sarandon doesnt give a damn about the issues Bernie Sanders is advocating for. She just wants to see the establishment torn apart by an outsider any outsider even if its a racist sexist xenophobic nuke-happy Nazi wannabe like Donald Trump. In that moment, she threw away every bit of liberal credibility she ever had, instead painting herself as a madwoman who simply wants to see the nation fall. And once again, it left the normal supporters of Bernie Sanders wondering why theyve been supporting a campaign whose most prominent backers are involved for such insanely nihilistic reasons........................

Yes he was spinning and trying to put the best light of the situation of Bernie losing badly in the south. But meltdown or laughing stock? I'm not seeing that.
I do thank you for bringing this up!

(1,442 posts)Of the remaining 22 primaries 56% is what Bernie needs to win nomination
Why would he concede when the nomination is within reach?

(1,442 posts)"have more delegates than Clinton"
that forces the super delegate's hands... go against the delegate count to prop HRC, the establishment republican light candidate up to 'win' the nomination or.... face imploding the D party
reading is fundamental, critical thinking is paramount

(1,019 posts)You're acting like Clinton's delegates will stay static while Bernie's just wrack up. Not according to proportional allocation rules.
Clinton needs 37% of the remaining delegates to win. She'll get that long before Sanders gets 57%, and Sanders required margin will only increase as less states remain to vote. He'll roll into CA needing to win 110% of the delegates there, just watch.

(1,442 posts)not I've presented facts, and looking at trends over time guess which candidate is gaining while the other is 'staying static', to use your term...
I am 'watching' and paying attention to the facts and details, you on the other hand are not
