Debra Messing & Susan Sarandon Have Twitter Political Fight for the Ages

Move over, third-person Kanye West rants, we have a new celebrity Twitter obsession: white actresses arguing about politics on Twitter.

Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon and Emmy-winning actress Debra Messing went toe to toe this week on Twitter, sparring over their preferred candidates for the Democratic nomination for president.

The spat spawned from a Sarandon interview with Chris Hayes on MSNBC Monday night, which got widely interpreted as the actress suggesting that, should Bernie Sanders not win the nomination, she would vote for Republican Donald Trump over the other remaining Democrat, Hillary Clinton.

Accusing Sen Sanders of election fraud goes too far, neither candidate bought any states.

JURY RESULTS

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Mar 31, 2016, 09:10 PM, and the Jury voted 4-3 to HIDE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Bernie owns new Hampshire? Who knew?
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Spiteful post but not a coherent allegation of election fraud as near as I can tell.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: You can't fall for the rhetorical bullshit here. Save your alert for something not involving celebrity gossip. And I am Sanders supporter.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Off the rails extreme.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given

Note to Juror 2 Disingenuous, much? Buying an election is the Oxford English Dictionary definition of election fraud.

Note to Juror 4 WTF? Since when is a DUer claiming Sanders bought an election gossip about celebrities?

memories of my misspent youth.

Main Street. Newark, Delaware, old creek road, boonesfarm strawberry wine. the good ole days. I wasn't old enough to drink. Boy did we have fun back then. <---that's how we did the RHPS

I was a semi-regular at the midnight screenings of Rocky Horror at the State theater in Newark, Delaware, in the early ’80s, and despite the presence of many a heterosexual, it was a very queer scene. Newark is a college town, and at that time it was liberal enough to have a gay student union but conservative enough that identifiable members of that group were liable to be harassed on the street. The folks standing in line outside the State in fishnets and Frank N. Furter makeup every Saturday night undoubtedly widened the sphere of possibilities for gender expression on Main Street. And those midnight performances were as close to a (mostly booze-free) gay bar that Newark had at the time: It was a family. A loose, cliquish one divided into participants and gawkers, to be sure, but a community nonetheless.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/outward/2014/10/31/is_the_rocky_horror_picture_show_good_for_the_gays.html

The article isn't about me, of course. But I didn't spend quite a few weekends down on Main Street.

I'm not a bit sitcom person, but Will & Grace was probably my favorite. I watch(ed) very few. I will watch the re-runs whenever I can.

We used to go see it at UVM in Burlington and up in Montreal, I was too young to drink too but that didn't stop me. Later in my 20's we used to dress up as characters (I went as Columbia).

And Boones Farm Tickled Pink is what we used to beg my best friends older sister to buy for us.

Ah, memories.

But I can't get through her tweets, she comes off as half illiterate in them. I know that you have to save space because of the character limit, but come on. I'm going to chalk it up to drunk tweeting.
