Early Voting

Continuing my series of confusion about the polls, i would like to bring up early voting. We have this narrative that the election is tied and that the republicans have a really high level of enthusiasm. Yet early voting is absolutely dominated by democrats. As of last week obama had a 52 point lead in early voting compared to romney in ohio, yet romney is still in good shape? Are we really expecting romney to make up 20, 30, 50 point deficits on election day And not just make up the deficit but rocket past obamin one day? Is that really possible?

Aand just as a bonus question, if republican enthusiam is so high, why arent they voting now?

and they are worried. There's some cheerleading about Romney being poised to win WI, NV, IA and/or PA(!!!).But even the faithful are having a hard time buying it.

If there was a real 'surge' there would be non-stop gloating and posting on the election. Instead their knee-deep in conspiracy theories. So if THEY aren't fired up, then I have a real hard time believing there is real movement. I don't believe they are going come out in force. If they were they would already be doing so in the early voting swing states! IA and OH show slight increased GOP turnout but not enough to demonstrate anything like a 'wave' election. GOP is being crushed in NV early voting. Therefore something is not right. NC is the only one showing good numbers but the Dems are still beating them albeit by closer margins than 2008. NC, NOT VA is the bellwether. If the wingnuts were indeed coming out for Romney, NC would be showing near blowout.

So you are correct, something isn't right.

On the other hand, the O campaign are not going to push too hard that they are ahead because they need to GOTV with this finicky-ass base of theirs. So it's in everybody's interest to keep the meme of a close race.

early voting among Dem supporters. And provide as many as you can with voter guides from the local party headquarters.
