New Poll: Obama leads Romney by 11 in Pennsylvania

A new poll released today by Morning Call shows the President with an 11 point lead over Mitt Romney.

Obama 48%
Romney 37%

GOP Presidential candidate Rick Santorum doesn't fair much better against the President in his home state.

Obama 49%
Santorum 41%

Still, I would rather be up instead of down.

Romney was suppose to change the map and challenge Obama in blue states. Thus far, that has not been the case. The President has posted leads in Michigan, Pennsylvania and most of the battle ground states. The only bad numbers so far are coming out of Iowa.

Have there been other polls where Obama is losing to Romney or Santorum?

but that poll was an outlier.

The last two polls out of Pennsylvania which were conducted this week show:

Morning Call
Obama 48
Romney 37
Obama +11

Franklin & Marshall
Obama 41
Romney 33
Obama +8

Both polls are local and have a very good reputation. Obama has very healthy leads in both polls which again are the 2 most recent available. PA hasn't gone for the GOP since 1988. And generally, Democrats perform better there than the polls indicate. Chuck Todd's map is off. PA should be light blue. Not a tossup battleground state.

Apparently, 4 years later, nothing has changed even though he won Pennsylvania decisively in 2008.
I'm waiting for them to start questioning whether or not he will able to "close the deal" this year.

As we move closer to November 2012, the map is looking more and more like 2008. Obama has huge leads in Michigan and now is clearly ahead in PA.

Here is some good info from PPP, (who is a very good pollster) discussing how the map is starting to look.

but it was a pretty strong D lean the two years prior.

It seems to be swinging to whatever party the wind is behind, and it is behind the dems right now, at least.

It is important to note, the governor, corbett is fairly unpopular. He has rebounded a bit, but it creates a bit of a supression for the Rs and juice for the Ds in this election.

Mitt is not a PA type guy, I don't think.

LONG way to go, but I would put the money on BO right now.

A lot of what people want to call "reagen democrats" a term I hate. But, the ds have a legit, about 800,000 advantage in registered voters. The swing STATEWIDE two years ago was not as big as the swing the prior two congressionals to Ds.

as a serious threat to the president's reelection chances. It's a farce, but it sells ad space.

We'd just say it's way too early, polls at this point mean nothing....................and we'd be right.

The last thing we should be doing now is taking ANYTHING for granted. That's why we have a Republican
Senator from Massachusetts. PA can still be bought for the Republican nominee. Common sense does not
always prevail. Just think: 2010...........2010............2010..............

That is 28 years (a generation) as of 2012....which it is.

The fight is going to be in Virginia and Ohio and Florida - in that order

Obama's running even in Missouri, Virginia, and Pennsylvania compared to 2008 - looks good for the fall.
