WHERE was Bernie while Clinton was fighting for $15 Hour Min Wage??

She has been for $15 an hour since 11AM yesterday and look how fast she got results!

And Where has Sanders been on this issue? Like why was he standing in the rain in 2015 with these underpaid people?

seriously...

Fight for $15 is arguably the greatest union victory in decades, perhaps even the greatest victory of the progressive movement in recent history. One of those victories came eight months ago, when the Democratic Party adopted a $15/hour minimum wage in the official party platform, weeks after Bernie Sanders introduced legislation in Congress.

By contrast, Hillary Clinton is the only prominent Democrat who refused to endorse $15/hour. Bernie Sanders won’t remind people of this, so I will: He was in the streets with fast-food workers every time. There’s photos of him marching with workers in the pouring fucking rain, and he’s the one who pushed Democrats to adopt it. Yet, Hillary Clinton will be on the stage

Because the fight for $15/hour wages has been going on for years, but the legislation was introduced just last year.

So a lot of the hard work to get attention for this issue happened in order for the bill to even be introduced for consideration.

No support, no bill.

It's easy to support a limited $15 wage in NY state the moment the governor does.

It's another matter altogether to come out for a national minimum, as Bernie does.

This cost of living in NY is bullshit-- NY and SF cities, other cities, probably need a $20 minimum but that's a different topic.

The truth is that Clinton is for $12. Period.

I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to."

She's not for $15/hr this year .. or next year ... or the year after ... but the following year, okay, assuming you live in NY City and work for the proper company ... otherwise you're already one of those 'elite' money bags.

For workers in New York City employed by businesses with at least 11 employees, the minimum wage would rise to $11 at the end of 2016, then another $2 each of the next two years. For employees of smaller companies in the city, the minimum wage would rise to $10.50 by the end of the year, then another $1.50 each year for three years.

For workers elsewhere in the state, the increase would be slower.

45. 2007 - Hillary Clinton Statement on Legislation to Raise the Minimum Wage
Tue Apr 5, 2016, 06:02 PM
Apr 2016
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/?pid=93079

With stagnant wages and skyrocketing costs for healthcare, energy and college, working families in America need a break. That is why yesterday I introduced legislation to raise the minimum wage to $9.50 by 2011, and link the minimum wage to Congressional pay raises after that. The Standing with Minimum Wage Earners Act of 2007 is the first bill ever to call for a $9.50 minimum wage.
I was proud to work earlier this year with Senator Kennedy and other Democratic leaders to enact the first minimum wage increase in ten years. By lifting the minimum wage to $7.25, that effort will give 257,000 Iowans - 18% of all workers - a raise, and help another 94,000 children who live with these workers who will benefit from increased household income.

that much of a bump was going too far not too many years ago. But it's harder now than ever for even the best minimum wage workers to find a better paying job. I'd tell anyone that a kid that stuck with some fast food job and worked his way up a little (still not a lot more than minimum wage no doubt) would be a great hire for a better job.

I'd felt forever that the minimum should have kept up with inflation all along. I'd probably be making more today if it had. I'll probably see a bump myself because the minimum went up.

My idea for years was that the minimum for part-time workers should have been a buck an hour more than for full-time. What I hated the most were all the places that screwed people over by keeping them just under qualifying for benefits by only working them like 29 hours a week. One grocery store chain was notorious for that.
