With Early Voting upon us and election day nearing; the Northfield Township Police Department aligns with the U.S Attorneys Office and Department of Justice in recognizing that Voting is the cornerstone of American democracy.
Federal law protects against crimes of intimidating or bribing voters, buying and selling votes, altering vote tallies, stuffing ballot boxes and/or marking ballots for voters against wishes or without the their input.
In addition, federal law protects the right of voters to mark their own ballots or to be assisted by a person of their choice.
If you have knowledge or suspect election abuses, frauds, or interferences we encourage you to report such activity. Voter abuse/fraud complaints may be directed to any of the local U.S. Attorneys Offices, the local FBI offices or the Public Integrity Section (202-514-1412).
