Obama approval up to 51-45 today. I do expect Gallup to have this thing get closer and closer

(25,415 posts)RV stayed the same.
Plus 5 R is still out of bounds with most of the other pollsters but it's an improvement for Obama on this poll.

(2,706 posts)Raw numbers are useless without cross tabs.
If Romney still has a +22 lead in the "south" and Obama leads everywhere else, then the latest Gallup poll is still a joke....

(242 posts)Anyone looking at national polls right now is wasting their time.
Obama could have a 51-49 lead in 49 states... but if Romney won 99% of Texas, pundits and pollsters would be telling everyone about Romney's lead in the national polls. BFD. It's worthless.

(2,706 posts)So how do we find out if Romney still has that +22 point lead in the south...
Unless that has changed, then Gallup is still worthless...

(1,113 posts)Gallup was founded by fundamentalist Christians, and every time some conservative Republican needs some support down the stretch, they stretch the numbers.

(4,551 posts)The National polling numbers are weird.
Romney has gone down in Gallup over the past couple of days, but has gone up in Rasmussen.
And Obama was going up in IBD/TIPP and now has gone down.
But there appears to be consistency amongst the approval ratings since most pollsters have Obama at 50%.
