2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf Hillary takes the nomination and is then indicted, can the Party replace her?
Would the Party replace her or leave her on the ticket as she continues to deal with the looming email server issues/investigation/whatever?
An indictment would be a terrible October Surprise and almost certainly see that Raphael Cruz becomes President.
I know, concern is noted, blah blah, but you cannot say that there's no way that this could ever happen.

(814 posts)She'll get the nomination, leave the POTUS, sell a book and increase her speaking fees after it. After all, that's why I think Hillary wants to become POTUS
After this, we'll never see her again until Hillary pushes her daughter or grand-daughter to run and the stupid MSM will perpetuate a stupid meme that they're the second coming of the Kennedys(complete load of crap).

(3,433 posts)They don't care, as long as there are two corporate politicians with the party nominations. They win either way.

(115,735 posts)for the possibility that its nominee might be unable to proceed to the GE for any reason (death, illness, incapacity, etc.), because obviously it would be impossible to re-do the primaries. My guess is that the delegates would be asked to re-vote, but I don't know if that's what they would actually have to do.

(39,343 posts)She's shown via Debbie W Schultz that she controls the Party and I doubt she'd step aside for the good of the Party/country in order to maintain her play for the office she's wanted since the 90's.

(1,446 posts)They don't consider him a loyal member of the party. As I've said before, I was able to talk with one of my senators while visiting DC on visit with my college poli sci group...and she said that they are going to work on changing the DNC rules to require any presidential candidate who wants to run as a Dem to have been a member of the Democratic party for a certain number of years before declaring. Obviously, they are a bit upset at how things have progressed.

(1,446 posts)see through the change that is necessary. The new party also needs to have clear, substantial working plans for how it is going to push for change in the current system. This type of revolution has to be much more inclusive, and far better organized, with concrete nuts and bolts, in order to succeed.

(45,851 posts)I still don't think the Dem party wants to win a landslide and particularly with a left populist like Bernie.
It's like watching the surface of a shark tank, there's all kinds of gruesome stuff going on down there you'd just as soon not have to think about but then you find yourself staring into the water.

(11,945 posts)Are they? How do you know? What is wrong with how "things have progressed"?
It is obvious that Bernie's values, principles, policies and issue stands are classically Democratic. What is there for them to object to?
As far as being "disloyal to the party," Bernie has voted and caucused for decades with the Democrats. They know him, they know he is honest and reliable. Where is the perceived "disloyalty" in that?

(33,224 posts)Of course they could, but this party is owned by the Clintons personally. It's their machine to do with as they will, as are all her supporters.
They're not here in service to us. We're here in service to them.
