Obama has a pretty good lead with women while he's slightly behind with men there.

(18,402 posts)Remember back to when Al Gore was losing (and eventually lost) Tennessee? The hue and cry in the media was that a candidate who can't even win his home state can never become president. It was one of the biggest talking points of the election.
Well, we've never quite had a candidate who has 4 home states: states in which he has houses and actually resides. Let's count Michigan as a home state, too, given that he grew up there and that his father was governor there. So he has 5 home states. But he's losing 4! How can this man become president when the people among whom he lives won't even elect him?
Massachusetts, California, Michigan, and probably New Hampshire are losses for him. Utah, Mormon capital of the world, is the only place in which he is safe.
If Obama were losing in either Hawaii or Illinois, don't you think they would be making a big deal out of it?
