(27,815 posts)That's why our candidate is winning.

(27,815 posts)The fact that Hillary is winning?

(57,349 posts)I'm going to send an email to Bernie now to ask him to apologize to sex workers, comparing them to politicians who lie, cheat and sell themselves to special interests for millions was rude.

(29,257 posts)Well, you're smart, you know the rest of the quote.
NanceGreggs
(27,815 posts)... that Hillary was "born on third base"?
Bonobo
(29,257 posts)She had every advantage you can think of.
NanceGreggs
(27,815 posts)... on her behalf, along with her own hard work - on this campaign, and throughout her career.
Did she go into this campaign with advantages? Yes, by being "known" as a lawyer, a First Lady of Arkansas, FLOTUS, SoS, NY senator - all things she worked at, and gained recognition for as a result.
But those advantages are coupled with the disadvantages of having been demonized by the Republicans for decades - and now being equally demonized by (alleged) Democrats.
Have you seen Hillary lounging around for the past year, awaiting her much-touted "coronation" based on "inevitability? Or have you noticed that she's been on the campaign trail, keeping up with a grueling schedule in order to earn every last vote she can?
Characterizing Hillary at this point as only winning because she had "advantages" - while not weighing in the disadvantages, or her hard work on this campaign - is dishonest in the extreme.
gabeana
(3,166 posts)is a former president of the United States, that is it, she has instant name recognition, just like George W whose father was Prez, its the name
NanceGreggs
(27,815 posts)Because Hillary never had a successful career as a lawyer, was never a champion for healthcare reform during her husband's tenure in office, was never a NY senator, and was never a Secretary of State.
People only "know" her because her husband is a former president. She never achieved anything on her own.
Jesus Hussein Christ. I sometimes wonder what planet people live on when they dismiss Hillary's entire career as non-existent. I think maybe a "few" people are aware of HRC's accomplishments - other than having been married to Bill - ya know, people who are actually aware of what's been going on in the world.
gabeana
(3,166 posts)but so have a lot of other people been successful and not in position to be President, it is not her fault, there is a whole bunch of this in politics, politics is the ultimate family business, The Kennedy's name, even Roosevelt liked having the name Roosevelt because of his cousin Teddy, the Bushes as I said earlier, and just as prevalent in congress state,
her career isn't anything remarkable compared to other remarkable careers, The Clinton name gave instant credibilty

LuvLoogie
(7,011 posts)to being Bills' wife. This is why you are losing. The things you assert, for why she is winning and Bernie isn't, are wishful thinking and made up drama.
The simple fact is that Bernie is riding the coattails of discontent and can only leverage that into 40+ support by going negative, much of it by right-wing proxy.
Well Hillary and her supporters are about to push back in a big way.
gabeana
(3,166 posts)She hasn't even been attacked hard, you have a ready set button to play victim, any criticism of her is personal, according to your likes it can't be based on policy, no the criticism it has to because of misogyny
She would not have been senator of New York and (she was a Carpert bagger,) if wasn't that she was Bills wife, and you know it
Push back with made up drama
Bernie is leading charge not riding the discontent wave, Hillary has done nothing in her long career to address until it becomes politically expedient

Fawke Em
(11,366 posts)I told my husband this time last year - before Bernie was in the race - that if that CORPORATE WHORE Hillary Clinton was the nominee, I, a Democrat for 28 years, would be leaving the party.
And, you're right. I'm tired of voting for CORPORATE whores in the Democratic Party. Time to chuck them. If that means I have to abstain or only vote for true FDR Democrats (like I'd ever get the chance to do that in the South) until the party returns to its roots in supporting the working class, that's what it means.
BTW, I live in the South. There are so few real Democrats down here, my level of "fed-up" is probably greater than you'll ever imagine.

Cher went on to talk about how much she liked and respected Hillary Clinton, whom she spent time with when Clinton was running for Senate. Cher said that she hopes the woman she fought hard for is still there, but that now she's faced with a difficult decision.
"Realize now that I have MUCH common ground and new respect for [Bernie Sanders]," said Cher, adding that she's torn up. She has not, however, changed her opinion of Sanders' campaign manager Weaver

(94,600 posts)At a Bernie Sanders rally in New York City tonight, a speaker on stage just referred to Democrats as whores.
The speaker was Dr. Paul Song, a healthcare advocate, and executive chairman of the Courage Campaign, who is married to actress Lisa Ling. Song has now apologized, after his words blew up the Internet.
MSNBC political reporter Alex Seitz-Wald was there:
Speaker at Bernie Sanders rally: Please do not believe the bullshit
the status quo sucks.
Adds that we need to kick out the corporate Democratic whores and replace them with Bernie-crats.

(978 posts)Or did he speak generally that everyone taking Big Money and do their bidding are corporate whores?
If he did the latter, why do you call democrats whores if they have clean slates and are not on the take?
I agree, it's disgusting to call honest politicians who listens to the people and not the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson and others, but to call out the ones who are as "whores" might sound derogatory, since I consider any D.C. Madam more honorable than most politician who speaks out of both sides of their mouths and takes money from corporations.
So let us hear what democrat you consider as whores since that is your insinuation?

The kid is young. And this is a storm in a teacup. If he could rephrase anything, he could refrain from giving any names, and used "corporate whores" or "hustlers" instead.
Politicians who are bought by corporations are corporate whores. That is general consensus.
If Hillary is on the take, why should she be exempt?
I am not saying one thing or another, but I do not believe her when she claims that all the money she takes doesn't influence her decision making.
Do you?

Off course we have all the campaign contributions from NRA lobbyists, fossil fuel lobbyists and their foundation in which the Saudis gave 10 million, and look at that - they get an arms deal where they get arms to kill Yemenity civilians with.
It's only republicans who gets corrupted. Not St. Hillary. Because she said so.
